He’ll be lucky if he makes the team honestly. guys his size running 4.3s are a dime a dozen. Plus his injury history and age. Can’t see if. Butttttt there is one team that lives white receivers, along with white players more than any other team, and that is the New England pats. I can see them picking him up.
They’re the only team you’ll see with a whole crew of white receivers and even a white running back lol. If they didn’t win so much it’d would probably be looked at as some border line racist $hit lol.
Pretty sure D.A. identifies as Black.
I spit my beer all over my phone on this one. Lol.

Devon Allen Ethnicity And Nationality
Devon Allen’s ethnicity is White.
Talking about his nationality, he is an American.
He was born in Seattle, Washington, and it is known that he made his professional debut in 2014 during Pac-12 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pullman, Washington.
a tweet from 2 years ago when there was a lot of protests in this country. At that time, he identified as Black / multiracial, but noted in this Twitter post that he didn’t necessarily face the same discrimination as those with darker skin.
Well, regardless. I'm rooting for him. He probably realized he can't beat Grant Holloway and decided to move on.
Not... quite. USA Today says he's envisioning a win and WR this summer. Whether that's realistic... uh.

He also plans to run in the World Athletics Championships in Eugene from July 15-24 and then get ready for training camp the following week.
"I wanted to come to Pro Day and announce that I was taking this seriously," Allen said. "The goal is to get ready for Worlds, compete in Worlds, win, break a world record, win the whole thing and when Worlds is done July 18, go to camp at the end of July when training camp starts.
"That's the goal I envision in my head to make it work and I feel like it is quite possible."
Another Oregon hurdler/footballer was Jerry Tarr, this guy was great actually ranked number one in the world and leadoff a world record 4x1 team at Oregon...
Tarr...Mike Gaetcher..Mel Renfro...all three played pro football...Harry Jerome the great Canadian on anchor. Tarr was a bust.
Richmond Flowers even had a movie about him, you know the story, so so career with Cowboys/Giants.
The best hurdler/footballer would have to be Rod Woodson he is a Hall of Fame.
James Owens was an Olympian out of UCLA, a running back.
Earl McCllouch had a good career with the Lions, ran leadoff on that world record 4x1 at USC with Simpson.
Willie Gault was good, he could play.
Fair Hooker ...love that name.
A few others....
Art Monk, Tyrone Wheatley, Gene Washington, Bernie Casey, Paul Lowe, Abe Woodson
Allen had a few moments at Oregon as a footballer but had a hard time staying healthy,
RGIII was a pretty good hurdler himself---long hurdles but still.
I don't completely understand how these things work, but I read this is a 3-year deal. Normally I would think he has a somewhat slim chance of making the roster...but why would he get a 3-year deal if there's a decent chance they don't like what they see after a few months?
Have not yet seen details of his 3 yr deal. Most likely year 1 fully guaranteed and years 2 & 3 cuttable. Otherwise he could have waited for a better offer from another team.
$750,000 + performance incentives guaranteed for year 1. He starts after world track and can run track in off-season. So eagles risk 1/250th of salary cap on a likely successful project, bar injury.
You guys remember that other world class hurdler that blew out his knees in the NFL? RG3 is doing just fine banging models and never had to work again. Kudos for Allen. He’ll be retired by 30.

....So instantly more $$$ than anyone in T&F not named Mondo, Felix or McLaughlin?

Street free agent contracts are pretty crappy and only the signing bonus, if there is one, is guaranteed. Cyril Grayson is a comparable story. He was an accomplished high school receiver but only ended up running track for LSU (400/800m specialist). Pete Carroll and the Seahawks signed him but he didn’t make the team. SPOTRAC said he made $9200 from the Seahawks. Then he bounced around for a few seasons between various practice squads making much less than the average active roster player. He finally got a foothold with Bucs and signed a guaranteed contract for 2022.
NFL contracts for lower rung players can get murky and the details from this contract are unknown. Allen has to make the active roster or receive a generous injury settlement to see that 750K. Let’s hope his agent negotiated a solid deal and the best of luck to Devon Allen!
