Dumbest thread ever. 95% of 100-200-400-800 races set PRs with positive splits. Most high school kids set PRs in every distance with positive splits.

this is asking for the BIGGEST positive split you have PRed with. kinda interesting.
When I was a junior athlete, the first 1500m of a new season, it was a race in Derby. It was early in the year, think April. I remember it wasn't very warm. Went through the first 400m in 60 something. Want to say it was 63-65. I remember hearing it - and thinking oh sh!t. By the bell, people were going backwards. The most painful way to run a race. It felt like gravity had gone wrong. Tried to sprint around the last bend, was probably just slowing down less than other people. Passed someone from a rival club. I ran a PB at the time. Surprised we ran under 5 minutes quite frankly. God knows what the last lap was!
I will say at least you feel like you've given it your all. Earlier in the year I did an indoor 1500m. I ran in a kind of opposite way, started off way too slowly. Last lap was a fast sprint but it was too late really. There was 0.02 in it at the end. I almost caught her. In fact... I thought I had. It must've been that I ran past her on the line, it felt like I'd beaten her to the line, but that happened fractionally after the line. It's a more frustrating way to run, as I felt like I had a lot left at the end.
I ran 2:12 going out in 61. It was my first 800.
