    Hi guys I work right across the street from a big name “running company” I saw 3 folks walk in today, one had a bag of what looked like a return. Hmmmm. CA rent? 3 customers, 1 return item. -$120 profit ??? Let’s pay those two Hispanic girls there too that don’t look like runners. $20 an hour x 8 hrs x 2. You just lost $440 in a 80 degree day in a touristy area this time of year. Hahahaha.

    sorry not buying it. Maybe it worked in 1993.

    I feel guilty for not supporting my local running stores. I live in midsized city and we have 3 local stores and a few FF scattered about in the 'burbs. I know the owners of most of the stores, yet I find myself ordering from Running Warehouse. It's just more convenient and they have a better selection.

    CNBC has a new video on their YouTube channel about wholesale shopping clubs. According to industry analysts each Costco store generates $230 million in annual sales. Sam's Club does about half that. Your running store example doesn't mention a gross sales figure but it implies about $600,000 in annual profit. The contrast here between a Costco store and a LRS really put things into perspective.
