Your resentment of women who stood up to the crappiest running company (child labor, abuse of athletes, doping scandals) is remarkable. Tell us you’re a bitter incel without using the term.
Yes, they need to bring in Allie Kieffer to neutralize that mix.
I don't think that would be able to neutralize the toxicity from Mary Cain let alone both of them. Just look at the latest post from Mary Cain's Instagram where she mentions everybody involved with Atalanta (even board members you never heard of) and Julia's Lucas taking over coaching but not a single mention of Jon Green leaving or anything he has done, not even a hashtag. It's like Mary Cain is pretending Jon Green doesn't exist. That's ice cold and I can totally see why Jon Green left her setup.
Why the hate on Allyson Felix? What is REALLY poor form is Mary not thanking Jon Green in her Instagram post and not thanking or noting him as previous coach on the Atalanta website. Not good. This is basic business etiquette and kindness. Ironic, considering how badly she was treated by various people with Nike. You would think she would want to treat people with respect. She needs a mentor.

There's a saying that one shouldn't quit their day job.....to become a professional triathlete that has no idea how to ride a bike in packs and get passed by tons of women in high school and college

Atalanta is a mythical female goddess who used to outrun men. She even defeated Peleus and other males in a wrestling match. The LR incels would clearly be very threatened by this.
That aside, Atalanta is in fact too similar to the Atalanta Italian Soccer Club and Atlanta Track Club to have any marketing relevancy.

It was also a club in NYC back in the '80s and '90s, so it was more intended as an homage to that. I guess there were no internet message boards for the selectively-misinterpreting, stridently misogynistic, mouthbreather troglodytes to whine on back then...

Put the name and running performances aside, if possible.
My understanding was that this "club" was offering a living-wage to young women who otherwise wouldn't have the running resume to snag a contract and that there would be mentoring of young girls across NYC.
I haven't seen one Instagram post showing them mentoring young girls. It's mostly photo shoots.
The three women on the team all seem like great people, but they also seem like they would have no problem landing a job outside of running. Degrees from Michigan and Stanford go pretty far.
When this project was first announced, everyone was like "How can these women afford to live on NYC on 60k a year...they'll have to share a 200 sq foot apartment in Brooklyn". I don't think any of these women are struggling to get by.
If I'm off base, forgive my ignorance. But if you are going to have a roster of conventially attractive and educated white women, at least post a picture of one of them helping a kid with math homework or something.
You get it, I think people forget some females have privilege and that where they got their degrees matter too.
Nike is from Greek mythology, so they didn’t have to get anyone to learn how to pronounce it. It had been around for awhile.
Just for the record, in case it has escaped anyone, Atalanta is also from Greek mythology, and has also been around for a while.
For the record people struggled with Nike pronunciation back in the 70s. It is easy to get used to stuff after years while forgetting that they were once new. Sure Nike and Atalanta go back thousands of years but few people were reading those stories.
In Europe they still struggle with it. They refer to it as Nike, rhyming with Bike.
growing up in the late 80s/early 90s I can remember saying it that way at times. New how to say it, just sometimes said it differently. like slang. wonder if I picked up from somebody older who was used to saying it that way in the 70s, before knowing better.
