GRANT FISHER:. how many American Records will he destroy

Definitely think it’s the opposite regarding the impressiveness of rupps indoor 3k vs. 10k record, but I do think Grant Fisher is our best chance at both of those records, and I think he probably has a much faster mile in him than Rupp, maybe 3:48? I could see him winding up a kick from 900m out El G style and completely running away from Hocker and Teare, making both of their “kicks” irrelevant. 

In the 3k I could see it, but I can't see that happening in the mile. Both Hocker and Teare have superior speed to Fisher and they're plenty strong. Recall that Nuguse tried to beat Hocker that way last year and he was able to close in a sub-1:49 800 (1:48.85). Before you say Fisher is the most talented runner, I think we have to frame that he is 24 and there're a number of younger runners who are better than he was at age 18-21. Let's see it play out, but yes he looks like the best USA mid-D/distance medal threat right now surpassing Chelimo, Hocker and so on.

The shocking thing to me is I actually expected a little more from Grant Fisher at Worlds but CONGRATS to him on an amazing season.

Four in 2022, how many next year?

Give Grant another year of training and hopefully NO INJURIES or set backs and he should be a lock for a medal in both the 5 and 10. Yes he have good speed against international fields but not great speed.

Once Grant realize his biggest attitude is his able to grind out 25-40% from home is better then any kick he can muster. Yes he is. DEFINITELY an Almaz Ayana type runner who will take longer to realize THAT because he have a decent but not great kick.

Even though Grant' had a notable AR breaking outdoor season, he never ran any important meet outdoors like he did indoors. Indoors he regularly took the lead from a ways out and ran into the top 10 all times list. Outdoors it seems he kept waiting in his kick ie USA 10000m, World's 10000m, Brussels 5000m...none of those races did he ever even try to take the lead and force the pace like he did when he turn a 5000m 13:09 race into a 12:53 by running the last 2000m in 4:57.

Another year of great training and more confidence in his ability to drop opponents with a long drive from home and the medals will start racking up for Grant Fisher. Don't really solely on your kick anymore Grant.
