I think it is rather sad that Teddy likes to bring up WCAP and how much money they waste each year. He got kicked out because he was not fast enough to be in the program. Sounds like he's jealous he isn't making the good 'easy' money anymore. Does he realize how stupid he sounds? I've never met him, but I hear Eddy is the only runner out there that can stand him.
It has to hurt his pride a bit to know he couldn't even hang with the top US woman, let alone the top US men.

He was sick this year. He wasn't sick the other like 5 years. I doubt that Nike gear made him sick.

Food for thought: Last time I checked, the US military was an all volunteer force. That means anyone out there who meets the enlistment standards (which are not all that hard) can join and try to get into the WCAP. If the WCAP is such a great deal at the expense of the taxpayers, it seems like there would be more runners trying to get in. It seems like there's some people out there who act like it's some sort of elite fraternity. I think its just some jealous people who are afraid to take the chance on the program; afraid that they might fail and end up working as a soldier for the remainder of their enlistment.

If the subject line meant that OP was asking about all quality American distance runners and not just men who could run sub-2:15/28:40, Molly Huddle and her however many Olympic teams, American records, and US championships in the years between posts #68 and #69 surely deserves a mention.
