On a business trip, you have to do many things in a short time, and the last thing you want to think about is everyday problems on a business trip and spend precious time solving them.

I have purchased the $5 wick-away tshirts before as throwaway items. No harm, no foul.
I went to Dolce and Gabbana in Bev Hills once a while back as well. I grabbed something and I didn't look at the price tag thinking it would be like max a couple hundred but it came to several thousand dollars at the register. I'm not going back there.

This is very funny bc 1) it’s very stupid, 2) D&G is for old gheys/ladies.

I agree - they don’t focus too much on the clothing. However, nice but normal brands (i.e. not thousands of dollars for an item) are commonly worn - vineyard vines, Ralph Lauren, etc

That's rough man, I bet that cut into your bender budget.

I went shopping in New York at Oscar de la renta with two women. They bought 4 dresses (I told them 4 items total was their limit) that i paid for and it came to 18k after taxes. Those two women keep calling me and texting me but that was the last day I'll ever spend (pun intended) with them. I told myself after that day, perhaps it would be cheaper to get myself a wife. Nice dresses though.
OMG Steve! Glad you dropped them. I am also an addict and also an extreme people pleaser. You are a good guy. Too much so. I have been taken for thousands before and I will never let that happen again.
If you are in New York or LA there are boutique stores in certain neighborhoods. The average person would not know the names of these places.
These are for 'high fashion' styles. Something I will never understand. I suppose it's for disposable income.
The value of something is always interesting. Once you get beyond function of an item, the perceived value is mostly marketing.
Wearing a $500 sweat shirt is just a foolish status statement.
Ironically, many rich people get fancy clothes for free, as they serve as free advertising for the designer. Look at pro athletes and celebs and they are always decked out in some high-end garb. I somewhat knew a former NBA years back, and he was provided more clothes by the team he coached than he could wear.
