Rupp faded after Kipchoge spoke. You can't let someone change your focus like that. Smh
Pretty sure the 14:28 had a lot more to do with why he faded then whatever he said

Watching closely, both Kipchoge and Rupp smiled at whatever Kipchoge said. I am hoping he turned to Rupp and said, "Well, I'm going to go now. Care to join me?" If I was Rupp, that would have taken the wind outta my sails, too.
BTW, eighth in the Olympic Marathon is pretty great. Y'all need to get over the Rupp-hate thing. It's getting really old and is sucking at your souls.
No. Watch what happened at 15 or 15.1 miles. Galen was right behind Kipchoge and Kipchoge was putting his hand down to signal Galen to back off. This was a few miles before the more pronounced incident. Galen was clipping his heels and it wasn’t the first time.

Yep, this is the right take. I feel a little bad for Galen since the Chogester is most definitely his hero. Must have crushed him as he thought they were friends. :(

Were you watching the right Olympics? There was a humorous exchange in 2016.

Reminded me of the exchange between Meb and Rupp at the Trials in 2016. Even the gesture was the same from Meb and Kipchoge, pointing to the road. Either take the lead or get off my back. And they're both seen as even-keeled guys.
Still, I was rooting for Rupp to medal cause he was working so hard. Maybe more for Osako and that Netherlands guy though. Rupp looked so drenched at the end, with all the work going into soaked hats and iced bags and Kipchoge didn't even look wet.
Did Kipchoge even sweat? Seems like he could of ran another 10k after he finished. Doesn't look tired at all.
No, Kipchoge has essentially trained himself to be a living piece of human jerky.
when does the exchange occur? I couldn't find it.

I was thinking the same thing. Love that shirt.
(For those who don't know, I'm referring to the "1:59:40" tee, with a side image of a goat, sold by LetsRun. It's the softest, most comfortable tee shirt I've ever worn, and now maybe one or two others will recognize the shirt's significance when I wear it on my next run.)
Kipchoge's gold medal run today sure was impressive!

Mine is in today’s laundry. I’ll put it on again once my wife washes it.

You cannot wash it yourself?
Sure. Wife prefers me out of the laundry room.
Does she do the cooking too?
I am sure Galen's drafting comes from AlSal's coaching method of doing every possible thing to get even the slightest advantage regardless of whether it is ethical or goes right up to the line of cheating. But that kind of drafting in a marathon is counterproductive. If the person you are drafting makes a move, you are not going to react as well as you would if you were running shoulder to shoulder. Also, it sends a message to the competition that you are probably weak and just barely hanging on, making it more likely that your competitor is going to drop a surge on you. And when the surge comes and you are a complete non-factor like Rupp was, it just makes the drafting look that much more douchey.

Oh yea. I did everything when she was in the hospital late spring. She really rules inside the house. I always help when she lets me. I mostly vacuum inside, clean base boards, and things she can’t reach. I do all the exterior and cars. Pay bills. So traditional marriage, which is uncommon today. We’ll be married 47 years next week. Works for us.
Ridiculous for Kipchoge to get flustered by Galen sitting in the group and not taking the lead. He had three Kenyan teammates with him at that point -- it would have been stupid for a solo American (or any other nation) to go to the front. Any Cat 3 cyclist knows how team drafting tactics work ... I'm not sure why runners can't figure it out. And, yes, these guys are moving plenty fast for drafting to make a difference.
Sorry -- Kipchoge had two Kenyan teammates with him, not three.

Don’t think Galen taking up residency in the triad was an issue as much as kicking heels and a freshly lubed fist.

Please, tell us more about this greatest shirt you've ever worn. At $30 it'd better be

When did drafting become unethical? Oh, it's now a a hindrance? which is it? Oh, I see, when the GOAT drops the field by over 1k you can't follow the move unless you are shoulder to shoulder. Taking notes here
