The 5 Anglo women have formed their own chase group
There are no chase when you don't have a chance to come back in.
The marathon is tomorrow, chief.
Gidey, Obiri and Hassan are unreal.

How many of the 29 finish? 20??
Could be just three at this rate
6K @ 18:04. Already lapped runners. Thank goodness for Hassan or we'd be down to the podium already.
Lap 13 - 71.7 It’s down to five -- gidey, Obiri, Hassan, gezahegne, cheptai
Lap 14 - 70.5
Lap 15 - 70.2 Now Cheptai has been dropped. Four women for three medals.
Lap 16 - 70.9 (19.14.9 - so roughly at 4:41)
This is insane. Everyone else dropping like flies

Yep, means business. Has decimated most the whole field.
I think the Americans are gonna get lapped.
dont forget what happened to salpeter, shorter race today but you can see someone run themselves out of it at the front
So impressed by Siffan's fitness and grit!
Gidley, obiri, hassan, and gezaghne separated at 6400 and starting to lap runners.
Hassan for the win....,biding her time
While trying not to state the obvious. But, I have to give it to Hassan. Hats off to her medical team…

Americans with 8 laps to go are stilltogether. Also Klosterhafen and McColgan. Pack of 5 - 21:01.
That's 30:54 pace.
I’m skeptical of her front running the whole way, but Gidey’s form is absolutely incredible
Obiri dropping??
People dropping like flies in this heat both physically and metaphorically. Gidey's doing the best for her chances but Hassan is running easy tucked in. Obiri fell to 4th and beginning to drop!
Despite the heat Hassan appears to be in cruise mode and has not yet turned on the accelerator. Hassan....almost sure to win, even though she has already ran five races so far
