LOL. Usada doesn't give prior notice. They bang on your door and if you don't answer it's a missed test. A missed test is a big deal. That's why athletes have to fill out a whereabouts form via an app that indicates where they are at all times.

So this keeps coming up on the msg boards "why would she orally ingest nandrolone if it's not active orally, she must be innocent!" So one thought and I think a very probable one is that the nandrolone was not a contaminant of the burrito (see thread on red flags) as #'s and %'s don't add up. But rather the nandrolone was a contaminant of another androgenic agent she was taking. Nandrolone has the longest half life of the anabolic steroids so if she was microdosing under the detectable limit with something like a testosterone troche (buccal absorption) which would be much harder to detect, she could pass the test for testosterone if dosed low enough or stopped at the appropriate time but not knowing her gear was tainted she got popped. I really think this is the most likely scenario as almost anyone doping would know NOT to dope with nandrolone/deca durabolin.

As said in previous replies was probably not the nandrolone she was doping with but another steroid which could have been oral like testosterone which can be absorbed bucally kind of like nicotine gum. Also was it confirmed that it was orally ingested? Or was it just confirmed that it was lilkely not injected due to hair sample? I am not sure if everyone jumped to oral b/c was stated unlikely to have been injected or if that was actually confirmed. Also anabolic steroids can be administered topically.

I think it's more complicated than this. When you take compounds orally they FIRST pass through your liver before entering general circulation. So its not just that the liver metabolizes oral doses faster, it's that the liver acts on the compounds BEFORE they see the rest of your body. You have to take quite large doses orally to see serum levels that approach injected levels.

In urine, you see massive metabolite spikes in hours of taking nandrolone orally because your liver breaks it down immediately. The excretion profiles of oral and injected nandrolone are quite different.

Oral nandrolone is likely not effective. I have yet to see evidence that you can take an effective oral does that offers any antidoping benefit over injection.

Yes, I think some kind of contaminated other doping agent is possible. Very dumb to not get a high quality prep of steroid X if you're with the most famous team in the USA.

You'd need to eat about 20 of something she did not actually even order according to the receipt. Zero evidence the meat was tainted form that van they will not even name the van

Whether it's USADA, WADA or AIU the testing done is no notice testing. This is different from in competition testing where top finishers and selected random finishers are tested.

All three organizations can show up with no notice wherever it is you have listed on your whereabouts information. If you change training locations, all three organizations must be informed as to when and where you will be and for how long.

Testers do not give advance notice. If you are not at your registered location when they show up, they will call the athlete and the athlete has 60 minutes to show up at the registered location. If athlete does not show, it's a missed test and subject to penalty.

Nandrolone is a really poor choice of ped for a middle distance runner.

My guess is whatever else she was taken got continated with nandrolone.

Micro-dosing with tainted testosterone is the most likely scenario here. Testosterone makes a huge difference for women.

No athlete who is doping uses Nandrolone.

And when she says she had never even heard of Nandrolone, she was telling the truth.

Good for Jonathan Gault for defending her. He must be sickened by the way she has been treated.

Also... Jerry saying they'd have been treated fairly by USADA makes me think she got popped for nandrolone before, produced the burrito excuse and walked.

USADA, like RUSADA and UKAD, are there to protect their athletes. This is why AIU is such a game changer.
