No need to go sub-22 to approach the WR. Five of the top-9 400 runners all-time never broke 22 and Kratochvílová and Pérec barely broke it. But there is no arguing with you since you feel you know more about every topic known to mankind than anyone else. Even if Mu broke the WR in the 400 and the 800 but never breaks 22 you would still argue that it is impossible.
1 Marita Koch – 47.60 – 21.71
2 Jarmila Kratochvílová – 47.99 – 21.97
3 Salwa Eid Naser – 48.14 – 22.51
4 Marie-José Pérec – 48.25 – 21.99
5 Olga Bryzgina – 48.27 – 22.44
6 Shaunae Miller-Uibo – 48.37 – 21.74
7 Tatána Kocembová – 48.59 – 22.47
8 Cathy Freeman – 48.63 – 22.25
9 Sanya Richards-Ross – 48.70 – 22.09
10 Valerie Brisco – 48.83 – 21.81
So it's only "approaching" the 400 wr now, not breaking it? What is "approaching" it? 48-flat? Or a more modest 49?
I didn't say sub-22 was necessary but in the region of 22 or better - as the best 400 runners can at least do. She is nowhere near that. Your own stats undermine the argument she is fast enough to break the record. Marita Koch ran 21.71 over 200m - Mu is not a sprinter, she won't won't get anywhere near that. So far her best 200 is 23.7. She will be doing well to get below 23. But that still won't get her anywhere near the 400 wr. She may be a runner with world class potential (especially over the 800) but a lot of you are dreaming when you talk about records in the 400. No one will break Koch's doped record who can't run 21-high for 200.
I feel like you’re grasping at straws with the 200m PR argument. And it seems as if you’ve never seen her run. She routinely runs faster than 23.7 for her first 200 of the 400.
Indoor. She went out too slow (bad indoor tactics) and went out in 23.7 for first 200 of the 400. On the relay, she went out in 23.1.
Outdoor, she’s just ran 23.5 for her first 200 in the 49.8. She’s certainly “in the range” of sub 23 for sure.
