As great as the run from Edwards was, I reckon James Nipperess in the steeple was my favourite performance of the day, worth watching from the bell lap:

. Witnessing the carnage on the track after the finish line and the pure suffering of Nipperess after running the race of his life to be in the box seat for Tokyo selection was a pretty awesome sight. The steeple really is a brutal event isn't it!

What does Oregon's 800 guy (Charlie Hunter, I think) do to make the Olympics. I imagine he's too busy with Oregon's season to make it down to Australia for the trials?

I don't think that answers my question. What does that mean? What's the qualifier? The trials last weekend?

Have a look at WA link ‘Road to Tokyo’! That will tell you that 48 men will run the 800. At the moment there are 26 under qualifying time of 1:45.20. As opposed to the 1500 (which has 4 qualified-by-time Aussies and hence the discussions.....), in the 800 there are no qualified Australians. No chance to be 4 by the end of June. So if Charlie Hunter runs under 1:45.20 he’s on the team. No doubt there will be a race or two coming up where he’s looking to do that.

Why Do You say No Chance for Australia to have 4 get the 800 Qualifier? Looking at this list There is 4 Men CURRENTLY Under age 30 who have run that fast, Then as Mentioned Hunter, and EVERY Year there are New people

I'm so so impressed by edwards. That was one of the best races I've watch in a LONG time. I mean you've got a 3:35 PB. The other guy takes it out hard and you go with him.

McSweyn is too 'one paced'.....needs to take that stick out of his arse

At first I thought they might be teammates and SM was pacing JE to make the standard. Then I realized it was actually a classic "kicker v. pusher" duel, beautifully executed by both.
