Repuubs are going to regret their gerrymanders, deeply and truly. They will probably cost them seats, not gain them seats.

A deep red Trump +20 TX house seat flip blue for the first time in 35 years.
Election result - Democrat Taylor Rehmet has just been projected the winner of the Texas SD9 special election - 🔵 Flip (2022 - Republicans +20) This is the first time since 1991 that this district is electing a Democrat.
While you guys are circle jerking every single decision MAGA has made (because we are capable of making them), you’ve all written 10’s of thousands of words and not one idea. Not one contribution to the intellect of Americans, you’re fkn embarrassing. jeezus. come up with something besides flying airplanes with innocent people on the wings.
It’s pretty sad that you tried to call someone dumb and misused “you’re” in the process (the possessive form is “your”; that’s like middle school English buddy).
Zohran Mamdani just won an election on a complete policy platform and is implementing it. Government subsidized childcare and public transit, enforcing existing building codes by seizing properties owned by slumlords who don’t maintain them, building subsidized grocery stores in food deserts, increasing taxes on corporations and the uber-wealthy are all clear parts of his policy agenda. He is popular because New Yorkers think these are things that will benefit a vast majority of them. He is able to articulate his policy ideas intelligently unlike Trump who rambles and writes run-on sentences + misuses capitalization on Truth Social at 2:00 am.
I have plenty of my own ideas, such as passing legislation that requires transparency in medical billing to prevent asymmetric information. Basically, your provider would be required to inform you of the cost of an exam or procedure before you’d be allowed to agree to it. Also, the third-party payer system in healthcare is terrible. Many people think that a Medicare-for-all system would be both cheaper and far more equitable for Americans. Trump has no healthcare plan despite saying that he’s had one for years.
Stop arguing in bad faith. Plenty of people who oppose Trump have policy ideas and you must know this unless you’re a complete moran.
I'd add one more thing: in this TX state house red-to-blue flip we saw yesterday, Trump endorsed the R candidate strongly. But he got absolutely crushed in a red district.
It seems the endorsement worked in reverse and trump's endorsement HURT the Republican.
A few more like that, and elected Rs will obviously start moving away from Trump and insist Trump not endorse them.
That will start breaking up the Trump admin also. In politics if you have the stench of a loser, you lose power and cache instantly.
Did you catch Trump saying the VA Governor won by cheating?
She beat his MAGA guy that Trump endorsed by 15 points. Even the MAGA guy immediately conceded because he was trounced so bad. Nobody in the world dared to question those results except one dumb orange human being.
One would think if we were a serious country, we would be able to fully recognize that Trump says everything he loses is rigged. And one would think he would be prosecuted for seizing ballots to try to say 2020 was rigged again. All with the goal of cheating the midterms.
Repuubs are going to regret their gerrymanders, deeply and truly. They will probably cost them seats, not gain them seats.

The documentary, directed by Brett Ratner and backed by Amazon MGM Studios, is on track to bring in about $8 million domestically in its opening weekend.

1/ America's democratic backsliding under Trump has been far faster and steeper than in Russia under Putin, Hungary under Orban, Venezuela under Chavez, and Turkey under Erdogan, according to this remarkable graph and report from @jburnmurdoch in the Financial Times today. pic.twitter.com/6DJ1H3ynh3
Democratic backsliding. Attack on classical liberalism. Key reasons conservatives dislike the populist authoritarian party.
Note on the metric: Obviously, even with a consistent methodology, the measures will be somewhat subjective, but that’s more like having a greater margin of error than you’d get with something inherently quantitative that you can measure fairly precisely rather than a mere fabrication born of bias (the only real “bias” being that the people doing this tend to be firmly pro-democracy).
Note on sources: the guy posting this is not a far lefty, but apart from his military interests, he is particularly sensitive to the move of right-wing parties worldwide into far-right parties (make of that what you will). FT is generally center-right, so very far from a biased outlet like MSNBC/MSNOW. JBM, who created the chart, is widely respected for his data visualization but is not primarily a political analyst or commentator.
Another possible way to look at potential bias: something disastrous pitched by Democrats fairly recently like “court-packing” would not necessarily be considered antidemocratic if it were to be ratified constitutionally (I'd still consider it highly unwise and likely damaging, to say the least). But it would be unlikely to be ratified as, say, an amendment. So if some other maneuver were used to circumvent the constitution (I know of no such serious proposals), that would be a severe affront to democracy and would strongly affect the score noted there in FT, I believe.

You have none however. Hang your hat on the loser in nyc. if that’s your policy that’s it, what I’m saying is that all these nauseating comments on MAGA should be followed by at least one idea. we are 10 years in and have not seen one yet. Which equates to being dumb in my opinion and, since this America I can share this with you.
In Nazi Germany, your fantasy, I could not share my opinion nor you. This also makes you dumb for making such asinine comparisons. if it isn’t dumb, what is it?

Because it was stolen. Americans who do not stand up for stolen elections are not Americans at all. I don’t recall any such hysteria over Hillary starting the Obama birther debate? Upset a lot of people no doubt, but we let it slide.
You guys lose anything and it’s right to impeachment. .because you have no ideas to win a vote.
Keep an eye on Georgia.

…
I believe our current president was horrified by the “birther debate” and can’t imagine what got into any and all who would make such charges about Obama. Glad all the people who are now his followers took the moral high road by letting that one “slide” for Hillary.

80% chance Ossoff will win the senate race in GA
you will be whingeing, yes. I feel sorry for your HS XC coach and teammates who have to deal with losers like you.

It all starts from above - they've begun emulating Trump's qualities, both his good ones (at least one exists) and his bad ones (many). Remind me how well Trump took his loss in 2020?
A Trump +17 Texas senate seat flips to a Democrat.
More people than ever are out in the streets of Minneapolis.
Nobody respects your authority. Nobody is intimidated.
We can smell your lack of confidence.
Remind me: who won a random (special) Senate election in Massachusetts in, coincidentally, January of 2010? Does Massachusetts normally vote Republican? not at al. Low-turnout special elections have freak results.
