We own a paper tiger. A dog, part Germany Shepard, Siberian Husky, Golden Retriever mix dog with a very loud bark who loves jumping at the window to scare people away. She is very good at that. But, open the door to receive a package and she sits and puts her paw out for a shake. Pull the curtain away (open the door) and "oops."

Trump is sundowning. A sign of dementia... Falling asleep in the afternoon multiple times and staying up at all hours of the night.

He fell asleep that one time because he was posting 150 times on Truth Social the night before.

No kings had a relatively large amount of people because mid-October is always going to be nice enough basically everywhere in the country. Now, especially in the northeast / midwest? Too cold.

That was a latitude map. not a climate comparison. Tehran is a lot warmer than North Carolina

It doesn’t sounds unreasonable to show your ID for registration or casting your vote, but your table is obviously wrong and misleading.

For example in Switzerland you don’t need to register as a voter, you automatically receive the voting documents per post a few weeks in advance as soon you turn 18, you fill it at home, and >90% of voters sends their ballot by post ahead of voting day or just drop it in a box at the town hall ahead of voting day. No need for ID whatsoever.

The only voting modality where you may have to show your ID is for people showing up in person on election day (less than 10% do it, usually people who forgot voting in advance or who have lost their voting documents), in order to prevent double voting or impersonation of another voter as you are given new voting ballots.

“Everyone is corruptible” does not mean that corruption occurs to the same extent with each politician. It’s absurd to suggest otherwise. And to shrug it off ensures that it will get worse, even if one could never completely eradicate it.

“Enrich himself” is bad, but it’s not the worst thing about him

”very effective leader” would be nice, but it’s not worth trading off democratic norms, and at any rate it does not describe Trump.

You seem to confuse his “policies” in isolation with the way they are implemented. What would be a good policy from another Republican is likely to turn sour in this administration once they bungle comms and implementation. Chaos and divisiveness makes the base happy. It’s a crappy way to govern (“hey … let’s use chaos and divisiveness to bait lefty demonstrators and Walz into chaos and divisiveness! Sure, America loses, but we get to call them names on TV!”).

The answer to the other side’s problems is not to excuse problems on your side.

Our dog is the smartest dog we have had. Her best skill is closing open doors with a command. Put a bunch of MAGAs is a closet, leave the door open, and she will lock them in.

Unlike MAGAs, we can also put a treat on our dog's paw, walk away for several minutes, and the treat is still on her paw untouched. We say OK and then she will eat the treat. MAGAs devour whatever Dump tosses at them, instantly, no questions asked.
