I will say this.

I expected his second term to be more of a revenge tour - he didn't jail his enemies or people who wronged him (who weaponized the government against him) in his first term. He didn't profit like he could have in his first term. etc. I thought that his second term would be more along the lines of golfing, making money, "getting back" at his enemies, as well as deporting people.

Now, I think he wants to buy Greenland to make a true legacy for himself. Same with the ballroom - it'll be a permanent change to the White House that everybody knows Trump will have done.

The markets are doing well but the overall economy is still somewhat iffy. If / when he lowers tariff rates in 2026, I think it'll truly boom.

Stability and deregulation is what the economy needs. We have the deregulation but stability has been lacking a bit.

I will put you in the category of mental giants that don’t understand that in America you have to have real crimes with actual statutes that are violated to put people in prison.

“A bit” is doing more than “a bit” of work there. There is also better deregulation and worse deregulation, even when the deregulation is likelier to be needed than not. The same applies to spending cuts. But we’re faced with the chaos, chainsaw, and feelings-over-facts administration (OK, we almost always get feelings over facts; these guys just tend to be among the worst offenders on boasting and lies or half-truths, as though they want to outdo the whoppers from early in the Biden administration about “creating” jobs). The FBI’s search of John Bolton’s home and office last week shook much of official Washington. It was the most intrusive and aggressive law enforcement action taken by the Trump administration against the president’s critics and political opponents to date. Many in the political press corps certainly treated it as a milestone: Donald Trump’s much-anticipated prosecutorial revenge tour was upon us.

In fact, the news concerning Bolton was just the latest in a string of attacks on Trump critics and former career government officials who became enemies of the administration simply by doing their jobs. Aside from the bold face names like Bolton, who served as Trump’s national security adviser in the first administration before turning against him, the targets include the prosecutors and federal agents who were forced out of the DOJ and FBI because they investigated the siege of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election.

Some of these people's lives have already been upended.

“We’ve had very real and very scary threats from stalkers,” Miles Taylor, a former senior Department of Homeland Security official in the first Trump administration who became a persistent critic, told me. “Even if the president doesn’t believe his own language about [accusing Taylor of] treason — a crime punishable by death — his own supporters do, and they’ve made sure to let us know that they feel that way.”

Earlier this year, Trump signed an executive order directing the Justice Department to criminally investigate Taylor, and as a result of Trump’s threats, Taylor, who has an 11-month-old child, has already lost his business and many of his friends. On top of that, he said, “we’ve taken very, very extensive measures on the physical safety front.”

Deer Founders: SUPER quick update. Your country made tons of progress for generations after your death. At one point, unfortunately, there was a genocidal power in Germany that caused the largest war in history. But America played a huge roll in stopping it, and continued to progress (and lead the free world) for nearly a hundred years after it.

Bad news: About 80 years after that war, America put in power an administration that 100% deserved to be accurately compared to that genocidal power.

Of the hundreds of people Trump promised retribution on the campaign trail, the one guy that looks like he might have charges stick is a lifelong Republican that Trump freekin hired to be in his damn cabinet.

To put it another way, in Trumps entire FBI search for retribution criminals, he could only find one and it was a part of his team.

There is a lesson there if you allow it to teach you.
