Is the course in quick condition? Will Dylan mountain go after a course record or just relax and save it for the more important race? Who has more kids Dylan Mountain or Dylan Stevens? Any outsiders from the PSAC going to play a role? What individuals make it out? Millersville's XC team is so good just like Edinboro's indoor track team that they just don't even bother competing!

I'm watching IUP men; two years ago, they shocked people with 4th place, last year maintained a 4th place, and now will maybe qualify for nationals for the first time in 25 years. Seems to me that they are pretty hungry this year, and I would be too with that multi-year buildup! And I noticed they have been close to going to nationals for the past couple years because the region just missed getting a fourth bid with boro in 9th 2012 and 2013, and haven 12th last year... would be nice for another bid to send 4 teams to represent
Forgetting Ray Ofman? Went 82nd at nationals last year as an individual in those *wet* conditions... he can be top 50 off returners alone, plus this time he may have a team along side him

I agree with you. I can realistically see Lock Haven and Shippensburg in the top 10. It's not necessarily crazy to say both teams could have multiple All-Americans and their entire top five in the top 60. Remember Edinboro at spokane having 2 guys in the top 50, and deibel and dustin thomas being top 60. If that edinboro team, (who was also very good) can do it I have a lot of faith one of the two this year can do it. Since we are talking about nationals, and all agree that neither team should be overly concerned with conferences and regionals, I am going to say what I truly believe the performances at paul short would convert to if both teams could replicate those performances again.
Ship:
1) Keiran- finished second later in the day so he could potentially have gone faster, and the course was a touch sloppier I would assume, also I believe he just stayed with the front pack and left it to a kickers finish. With this being said I think he can turn in a top 20-30 finish at nationals (refer to Matt Gillette his senior year)
2)Balla- may have exerted more of his potential than Sutton but nonetheless still turned in a top 40-60 effort
3) Bruning- same as Balla
4)Conrad-Kline- assuming still 10 seconds behind his teammates still leaves him in the top 65-80
5) Bernard England- had what appeared to be an off day at paul short even so would be a top 100 finisher at nationals, but I would be inclined to say he's capable of much greater assuming good health, I'm predicting he will be among Balla and Bruning rounding out the top five with conrad cline and undoubtedly giving shippensburg a phenomenal chance to be top 10.
Haven:
1)Mountain- I don't think it's so hard to say he has an opportunity to be in the top 5, I don't want to say he's a contender because other individuals in d2 are difficult to read thus far.
2)Monroe- showing shades of his older brother, his performance could leave him close to sutton somewhere in the top 30-40
3)Robinson- 3 seconds behind Monroe
4)Giuod- 5 seconds behind robinson
5)diltz-3 seconds behind Giuod
top 5 could be interchangeable at nationals judging by paul short, but their performance (if replicated) I think definitely could put their 2-5 among the top 70 at WORST and top 40-55 at best.
also it would be disrespectful to leave out elliot from edinboro who will bring the edinboro national effect and be in the top 50 along with steve maine, Corey wefing, and jeremy parsons who should be top 100 finsihers
I understand more than likely at nationals this will all not happen on the same day, but it's exciting to think of the opportunity the psac has this year. Although if even half of these turned out to be true it's still going to be a great year.

What really pisses me off is that this post and most likely multiple other posts about Coach Hammer have very likely been posted by alums, current athletes, and others who have been associated with the program in the past. Despite everyone rooting against Rick and his teams and numerous other obstacles he has overcome since taking over for the legendary Watts, Rick has managed to keep the program successful.
While it was ugly, he brought a men's team which had been humiliated twice by IUP twice and SRU once this year together at the most important time. Not a single runner on the current women's team ran a step under Watts. Watts changed my life and I am forever loyal to him. But I think the best way to stay loyal to him is to stay loyal to your team, to Edinboro.
As a loyal alum I challenge the other Boro alums to get behind Rick and what he is doing. Is it the same Edinborowe were a part of? No, but only Watts could keep that same Edinboro alive. Stop bashing on the current program and stop being a distraction to the current team.
Today I am proud to be an Edinboro alum but I am not proud to be associated with those of you who have done more to prevent the program from moving forward and are preventing the current team from having their own Edinboro experience. Let today be evidence that the Edinboro tradition is still alive and thriving and let's help get the team back to the point where we are beating them Haven and Ship athletes every year. I know I still hate ship as much as ever and want to see them back where they belong and that's behind those 3 stripes.

Well put. No one likes Ship!! But seriously it was great to see a bunch of Boro runners realize that it didn't matter what happened at conference or what alumni were saying and come together with something to prove to get the job done. It made my Saturday day drinking that much better!!
Ship is too busy winning to care who is coaching which school and how many stripes they might have.

Let's talk about those times! My goodness. Two teams averaged sub-31 for 10k. Haven and Ship are both top 10 teams if they can perform. We've seen plenty a good PSAC team implode at NCAAs. Hopefully these team can both notch a top 8! 5 teams would go next year. With that many bids even Cheney has a decent shot.
