Yet another take on issues that underlie some of the reasons why a Trump administration is all but certain to be much much worse than any other Republican administration (that’s among people likely to be able to govern, not like Boebert or somebody similar):
Conservative on X replying to someone who thinks he’s just siding with Libs in calling for Noem’s ouster: ”Aside from shooting dogs, Noem is a useless political opportunist who prioritizes scoring social media points over keeping agents safe and getting results.
She’s sidelined competent people who know what they are doing, such as Tom Homan, because they won’t pander to her nonsense.
Her public comments, often filled with unnecessary falsehoods and inexplicable tangents, have significantly undermined trust in DHS when it is needed most. That has put the agents actually carrying out these complicated operations in greater danger and is risked the entire Trump admin immigration policy agenda.
Anyone who actually cares about gaining support for immigration enforcement and effectively carrying out such policies should want her gone.”
There are competent people in the administration, but they are too few and far between. The president selects people first and foremost for loyalty, then for other shallow qualities, then possibly for competence. All the followers who rail against DEI, presumably primarily because it leaves incompetent people in important positions, have little problem with the way competence gets sidelined in Trump’s way of doing things.
