Matt “Bike Support” Choi PR’d in the marathon today…with a 1,000+ foot downhill. No word yet on whether his e-bike minions flattened any other competitors this time.
The US wouldn't enforce their influencer regulations at the moment but the EU and UK (and maybe Canada too) would certainly would. Not surprised the disclosures start when they're in Europe. The whole thing is really just an amazing grift. Kofuzi is the one who really started it though.
BITR’s first “dirt division” podcast from Chamonix is also, somehow, even more cringe than their regular shows. Taylor cries about not finishing Leadville, while also having the epiphany that so many people have much worse struggles. There’s a lot of talk about how it’s perfectly okay to spend lots of money and waste people’s time to DNF races other people wanted to get into if you’re just not feeling it. Thomas and Carl have a disastrous trail “half marathon” hike (10 miles actually). Carl falls down and yelps for help. Thomas in his cowboy hat cuts the line for first aid to get Carl a bandaid for his scraped knee. Thomas trashes French croissants… could go on and on. I do actually find this entertaining in the way I used to find the jersey shore entertaining in how horrible it is.
Ah yes, the French, known for their terrible pastries.
I unsubscribed from Philly Bowden’s channel because she’s too negative and making excuses for why races went bad. I occasionally watch her videos , the Falmouth video was all negativity. I don’t think she has any chance of making the Olympic team , 2:25 isn’t that fast anymore and that’s when she’s at her best .

Dumb dudes like Thomas and Karl are the reason why the mandatory kit list for UTMB races is so long and why every year people die up there*(Mont Blanc I mean). These guys do not belong in the mountains. And getting medical aid for a little scraped up knee (and of course cutting the line!!)? I laughed out loud when I saw his little boo boo. The most recent podcast was cringe level 1000. So bad. But at least they reminded everyone why the average Joe shouldn't do a UTMB race..too crowded, too expensive, too "technical" for road runners.

I started watching Philly because I wanted to follow a female runner/content creator and she seemed fun and a bit unusual, but her content has become just totally exhausting now, I cannot
Agreed. She needs a break..or therapy..or medication. No sure how her husband can take it but he's in it for life now pheww.

They don’t even know how to get to and from the start and finish, let alone how to navigate the 9 mile well populated trail. They just want to relax and have a cocktail after, but Thomas realizes the last bus is leaving and it’s a mile away. He asks Karl if he’s good to run and Karl says yeah, since his wound is now “cleaned and disinfected.”
Ben Felton ran 1:11:44 at the Stockholm Half Marathon today. The course is slightly hilly, but it’s one of the biggest half marathons in Europe. Breaking 2:30 at the next marathon in Chicago will be a real challenge.
For Ben Felton, honestly while not the worst of worst results, he genuinely needs to lock in on trying to stay healthy somehow... his progression stagnation in the marathon distance is very clearly cause there is a new injury issue every 4-6months
The endless spam of the Sydney marathon from fluencers will be upon us soon enough. Can't wait for them to tell us how difficult it was for them to qualify.
So looking forward to Kofuzi video explaining how Sydney is a tricky course. Dude is supposedly an avid runner with a non corporate job and was only able to muster up 3:13. Complete waste.
Fairly certain I saw Mo, formerly of the Running Channel, at Sydney Marathon today. Seemed to be running a bit slower than 3 hours. It was either him or the spitting image.

What better way to remedy overtraining than to race a half marathon. Bravo!
2:19:51 for RTJ in Hokkaido Marathon to kick start his marathon training block, negative splitting in 22 Celsius/71 Fahrenheit. Certainly looks like a better/more controlled effort than Gold Coast 1 month ago
Mary McCarthy finally got her sub 3 in Sydney. She went through halfway in 1:29:44 and finished in 2:55:29, so she ran a 4 minute negative split too. Credit where credit is due, after her pacing disaster in London she clearly learned to not go out too hot. She pretty much paced it too perfection. Even splits from the start up to 30k then got faster every 5k.

Felton is not a marathon runner. He cannot hold the mileage needed.
That is not a bad thing. Not all runners are marathon runners. I think he believes he needs to run fast marathons to "prove" he is a fast runner
