Yeah. Letsrun played a role and created a really good thread, but I don't know why anyone here is trying to downplay the role of the group that actually went out and kept track of Rob for several days while we all sat depressed, and off meds at our computers in our mom's basements. While we were all complaining that we couldn't get "boots on the ground," the uList guys were on their way to intercept the traveling circus.

I was planning all week to intercept on the east side of Indy today which I did. Too bad it's the same day he quit. I was looking forward to meeting Laz.

Fair point. But the "we" stuff is really all the letsrun folks doing the "we" thing. I'm actually not doing a lot of "we". Aside from trying to provide the team with some guidance on cellulitis... which *I* actually did... and trying to get coachkev and Andy to knock off their attempts at being bullies... which I did here and other places... I fully acknowledge that I didn't do shit and I'm not preening like I did. But fair point. The guys who actually did the real work aren't trying to defend themselves and get accolades. They don't need to. Especially from this crowd.

What's this bull crap? We were constantly told by that Natty dude that "a group is on their way", "maybe they're there now", blah blah. If he and others had shut up, or we had known how slow in the uptake ultra runners really are, there would have been boots on the ground much quicker.
Posts on a message board were the force that prevented LRers from physically showing up? Who would have showed up if Natty hadn't made the posts you mention? How were they stopped by Natty's posts? Why didn't they just go run with Rob even knowing that uList guys were on their way?

Actually responding a second time because I went back and looked. I don't think I did the "we" thing. I called someone else out for the doing the "we" thing. Ha.
But the idea that you listed who was out on the geezer team lets me know that you are well informed. So, cool. I don't think I'm quite as Pop Warnery as you accuse, but I agree there ain't no we. Which is why I was poking someone else for doing it.

Plans were fully in motion for the team to meet RY prior to the thread. He would have been stopped without the thread.
The thread and the Asher video made this way more public than it would have been without the ultralisters. There was some great analysis done by lrc as well..but without Laz and co. on the ground, Rob would be in West Virginia by now and the fight would have been won/lost after the fact.
Both platforms served a purpose. The one side effect is that the planned meet up was supposed to be more stealthy. Once it blew up there was no chance of catching him in he act.
I am a medical student on a radiology rotation. I was sitting behind the resident in the reading room, peeking at this thread (lets be real you can't keep up here of you fail to check for more than a few hours at a time), and could not suppress an audible laugh at a Fake Laz post. This thread has been truly amazing. The internet is such a wonderful thing.
