Is Floberg running Hidden Gem HM again? What did he get 1:12 last year? If he wants sub 2:30 (which we all know is his goal) he'll need to be looking at 1:10 surely next week?

A 1:10 half is faster than most need for a 2:29:XX marathon. Especially when training is geared towards the marathon and not half marathon. If he can run 1:12 low with minimal/no taper then he is in pretty good shape. Besides, I think it his endurance at the back end of the marathon that is his main concern, not his speed over shorter distances (like most of us).

I don’t see him as your typical high school jock. Seems like more of the nerdy AV club type that came across sport later in life. Perhaps trying to play the jock now as he didn’t have the opportunity to do so in high school.

Not defending Floberg as I think he is generally insufferable , but why is homeschooling an “off the wall” view? Have you not seen the academic performance statics in American public schools? Homeschooling is pretty rational.

Blogsnark is really roasting Track Club Babe for a video she posted with Deena Kastor. Apparently Deena looked very annoyed with Track Club Babe. I guess Track Club Babe reads Blogsnark because she deleted the post. She never deleted anything, she usually just endlessly recycled posts.

Anyway, other than Track Club Babe and Kofuzi, who is racing this weekend in Sydney of our favorites? Will Matt Choi make an appearance?

Phily finally releases her ‘authentic’ vlog about Falmouth. The 10+day delay was probably because her and Daniel were figuring out how to spin it, but belatedly realised that they actually had to tell pretty much the truth in that it was simply a total disaster. I know her coach gets some stick on here, but I’m not surprised he doesn’t want to be videoed trying to pacify someone who is coming across like an irrationally upset teenager immediately after the race. If I was him I’d put a clause in the contract to prohibit that with her! I’m not sure it’s about whether she should stay with him - does he want to be staying with her, as how she reacts must be doing him damage. One minor plus point in her favour is that I was wondering if she was just not going to mention Falmouth - she released a video before this one where I don’t think it was mentioned - so a minor positive for her is that she did at least address it. Also nice for her that she’s got a long list of excuses to hand when Chicago inevitably goes terribly. Maybe she’s considering a classic ‘YouTube pivot’ because when it does all go wrong in Chicago, I can’t help wondering if she’ll basically totally unravel.

I agree, Blowberg does not come across as though he was a jock.

My view of him at school was him being void of academic, sporting or creative talent.

However, he finds out that it's quite easy to point a camera and press a button. His wealthy parents probably manifest the idea he's a talented artist and buy him lots of expensive kit. He then identified as "creative, arty type".

As for his living situation, this is also a Londo Brighton thing. I see loads of people like Blowberg living in 1 million pounds + houses and earning a pittance as freelance photographers, graphic designers (insert any low skill digital art form).

I don't follow Bowden because I just like to see smart, matured runners with winning mentality (a good result is a bonus, but not necessary). She's essentially a fast hobbyjogger with a youtube channel. She's always messed up this race, that race, that prep the other prep. It's on and on and on. And her fragile psyche and I would say ego is just the cherry on top. She'll get success as a runtuber because being good at youtube has nothing or very little to do with running success. It's a different skillset.

I hope none of the people he coaches actually swallow this nonsense.
