it's pretty crazy that some people still talk about the Jussie Smollet "attack" as if it actually happened

Charles Barkley seemed crestfallen Friday night over Jussie Smollett, lamenting how he betrayed the black and LGBTQ communities.

We got the famed commentator at the 1818 Club in Atlanta on his way out of Ric Flair's 70th birthday party, and he had some sobering thoughts about the "Empire" actor ... whom he calls talented but also someone who lost his way, causing "immeasurable damage."

Charles was much more serious than he was Friday, when he joked about Jussie on "Inside the NBA," when he suggested if the Jussie really wanted to be a hate crime victim, he should have just gone to Liam Neeson's neighborhood.

As for Barkley's serious comments, he's part of an ever-increasing chorus of people who feel Jussie did great damage. As we reported, Jussie vehemently denies concocting the story.

Every time these stories come up, the LGBTQ world tries to hide a simple fact: the "gay" world has two rather distinct groups, toppers and bottomers (or whatever your bat/bowl terminology is). Swopping it up is sorta rare (maybe 10%? -- though a hierarchic phenomenon of age/prestige exists too). Some don't even consider themselves "gay" unless they are penetrated (males-who-have-sex-with-males MSM). Those who are "victims" are again tend to be in one of the two groups, and not much the other. Go figure?

It weakens your argument when you call Goldman "Goldstein". Simpson was bigger, had a knife and Goldman was cornered so I don't believe it was much of a fight.

When someone is stabbing someone the knife becomes slippery and often causes cuts. This happened to Simpson and his blood was found on the ground.

Fuhrman was advised to take the fifth by his attorneys if asked whether his previous testimony was a lie when he claimed he hadn't used the N-word in the previous 10 years. Once he used the fifth he had to use it for any other questions as well.

The first officers to arrive at the crime scene testified there was only one glove. For Fuhrman to have had possession of the glove he would have had to somehow beat everyone to the crime scene or have been the actual murderer.

When Fuhrman and the other officers arrived at Simpson's property they had no idea whether he had an alibi. If Fuhrman had planted the glove and it turned out that Simpson left for Chicago the day before, Fuhrman would have gone to prison.

However, in reality the brothers made a deal with Jussie to train him for 5 weeks so he could get in shape for an upcoming music video. Jussie had said to Ola that he wanted abs like his. Both Abel and Ola agreed to train Jussie, and also give him a 5-week nutrition plan.

Our sources say Jussie told the brothers he would pay them for their services, but no specific amount was discussed. A few days before the "attack," Jussie wrote the brothers a check for $3,500. The memo line read, "5 weeks training nutrition plan."

If he paid $3500 for 5-weeks of training/nutrition, IMO he got ripped off.

Police started with a grainy video that showed only the silhouette of two men walking away from the scene soon after the attack. Wodnicki said it was just enough for police to begin tracking the Osundairo brothers “forward” from the crime scene. Footage showed the brothers jumping into a cab not far from where Smollett said he was attacked. Investigators were able to track down the cab driver, who had a security camera inside the taxi that captured the brothers' faces. The brothers took the cab several miles to the city’s North Side before they “abruptly stopped the cab” and began walking, police say.

“The way that they carried this out, there was never a thought in their mind that we would be able to track (them) down," Johnson said. He credited the detectives' intense focus on helping crack the case.

While the Osundairos allegedly assisted in the scheme, Wodnicki indicated that police see them as victims whom Smollett was attempting to wrongly implicate in a hate crime. Prosecutors have not commented on whether the brothers have been offered immunity for their cooperation.

Bo Dietl, a former New York Police Department detective, called the brothers “scumbags” for taking part in the alleged hoax. Still, he said, it would be understandable if prosecutors didn't go after them.

“With cooperating witnesses, sometimes you have to weigh out culpability,” Dietl said. “In reality, you have to look at who is the main person. Sometimes you have to give a person a play to get to the main culprit.”

Jussie Smollett‘s potentially permanent Empire ouster may not mark the end of the road for his character, Jamal Lyon. TVLine has learned that among the options producers are considering is bringing in a new actor to take over the role in Season 6. Per an Empire insider, series co-creator Lee Daniels — who loosely based Jamal on himself — is said to be a strong proponent of the recast option.

Jussie Smollett has hard evidence to support his claim the Chicago Police Superintendent got it wrong when he told the media the actor paid $3,500 to Abel and Ola Osundairo to stage an attack.

TMZ has obtained documents that on the surface back his claim the $3,500 check he wrote to Abel was for training. The check was written to Abel on January 23, 2019, six days before the "attack." The memo line reads, "5 week Nutrition/Workout program Don't Go."

Sources connected to Jussie tell us, the reference to "Don't Go" is a song for which Jussie was going to shoot a music video ... featuring himself shirtless. The sources say Jussie had gained weight -- he was 192 lbs and needed to lose 20 pounds for the shoot, and that's why he hired Abel ... whom he says he calls "Bon."

Sources connected to Jussie say the $3,500 breakdown is as follows -- $600 a week for the workout plan for 5 weeks, and $100 a week for the nutrition plan for 5 weeks.
