lol, this thread is going exactly how it always does. coach retires or takes a new job or leaves / an opening is posted… cue the slinging mud on the coach, a bunch of LR users claiming they have the formula to success, bunch of speculation, clamoring for certain people to get the job, etc. the much simpler answer may just be two straightforward ideas: one is that it’s a competitive industry so naturally there will constantly be change, and two is that more and more people are leaving college athletics due to NIL, revenue sharing, overworked, underpaid, etc. in favor of actual stable income commensurate with their abilities and time investment, a steadier clock in / clock out schedule without constant travel and recruiting calls, and just an overall more enjoyable lifestyle. i loved coaching, did it for over a decade, but once i left it for a sales job my qualify of life has skyrocketed, and it’s getting harder and harder to justify staying in the profession. especially with the constant complaining from athletes, parents, administration, and LR users (last one is only partially tongue in cheek… we’re the most guilty of bashing people we don’t even know anything about. the inherent nature of these message boards).
Dude this is so many words.
