I don’t demand anything of Nedd. And to be fair, GPS is more unreliable than this made up master lap system of his.
Hey Verified Aaron Judge -
was just unsure if you missed my response to you
What do you mean by lap counting? Wasn't his world record run on the road? I'm genuinely not trying to be smart here just want to know how the governing bodies tracked his run. Thanks!
"Lap counting" means counting laps. You know, like, 1,2,3,4 ... 432,433,434 etc.
If you know what laps are, and you know what counting is, then it doesn't take a genius to work out what lap counting is. If you multiply the total by 400, then like magic, you get the total distance that somebody has run.
It's still looking possible to be sub 12 days, which is far in excess of my expectations.
I'm very curious about the medical assistance which has enables him to be resurrected from the dead the last 2 days.
No compliance with any record criteria, no other competitors, you'd need to be a complete mental midget to think this is anything more than a vanity project masked by charity.
I can't see him running under 12. It would require him to average over 130km/day for the next 4 days.
He averaged 138km/day to through to 1000km (7 days 6 hours) and that was bumped up by 160km/day on each of the first three days.
He seems to have succumbed to his natural circadian rhythms and having his main sleep at night, so to beat 12 days he has 4 more nights with significant time off the track eating into his time to run 130km each day.
It's easy to say, "Just run through that last night", but this event started in the late afternoon so to squeeze under that 12 days, that strategy would require close to 36 hours non-stop on the track to finish by 5pm.
Kouros' split from 1000km to 1000 miles was at 131km/day. I can't see Nedd consistently matching Yiannis' closing pace for another 4 straight days. I think we can anticipate some rough patches for Nedd somewhere in the next 96 hours.
Its just been on Channel 9 'A Current Affair", really hyped up report. He has a boxer , Garside that did a marathon with him, Comedian and channel 9 presenter Hamish Blake, one of top physios, his parents dishing out his Oat Milk brand to kids on other side of fence etc.
No mention of track being off limits, hyped up the 1000mile in 10 days , "he will do it" was repeated by several, without mentioning that he has bno chance of making.
The certainly know how to drum up publicity. The donations will probably roll in now, but companies will be offering him jobs, speaking gigs, brande ambassadorship. He already has an expensive Oat Milk. If he doesn't F his body up, he'll have a great future out of it.
I’d love to get a glimpse of what sort of treatment is happening behind the scenes. Would bet my house there’s a bit of non WADA approved stuff going on.
This is like those ‘enhanced games’ they’re planning. Just do anything it takes and break all the rules to get as far as possible. Except at least they’re not selling the event as legitimate.

You’d have to assume he’s probably got IV drips in there; maybe taking modafinal or something. He seems to spontaneously turn into Lazarus every 48 hours
I have been wondering this as well.
Have they explained why the track is locked down? Is it just to keep ASADA out?
I thought the whole deal was this was going to be a solo run. Has had concierge pacing for hundreds of miles. Makes a world of difference
You said at the beginning that doing it without pace runners was madness; you just don't know what you're angry at anymore do you Will? I'm sure there's a few clouds over there that need yelling at x

Wouldn't expect anything less from such a person.
How's the high and mighty crew just making wild & unsubstantiated claims! The integrity of the sport is upheld!
Coach is even less switched on than you'd think. He said the fastest Master Lap he has done was 80min with Hamish Blake yesterday. Nedd's entire first day was 67min per 12.8km master lap.
He could have done it here on the M7 shared path, 5 miles out, 5 miles back. I would have even provided drinks for him, seriously.
A while back I was doing a saturday evening run on the M7 path, came across a guy finishing a solo 'iron man' tri distance for charity. I chatted to them, the genuine no frills no big deal people doing it for a real cause, got home, showered, donated to charity and joined them at the wrap up at a hotel nearby.
I have no problem with genuine people using our sport to make the world a better place. Just have a problem with clandestine operations, where the charity ends up with some (that's good) but the mission is that the person doing it gets recognition and fame.
If you do it by promoting a lie, misrepresentation, false goal call it what you will , it is the same scam that Belle Gibson (look her up) got convicted for. You can run 1000miles if you want, but one falsely used cancer and one falsely attracted followers with an impossible goal. Both contributed to charity, and both made more for themselves personally.
Faking to have cancer for personal gain and attempting to run 1000 miles for a verified charity supporting the homeless (can't believe I have to explain this) are two completely different things Sam.
The fact that there's 3 down votes on a post saying faking cancer is worse than raising money for homeless people just proves how radicalised some of the people here are.

it was madness. That was why the whole thing was so way off reality. If I'd known he was going to be paced for most of the last 6 days, I would have been more chilled about the prospect. Should get to 800 in 10 days now because of it.
Ps, in the studio they have just asked, "are we in day 8? day 7?" We are well into day 9, but they simply have no clue. Very much talking about the world record still
