They are also returning 3 scorers from NXN and added a little more depth during track. Great Oak is the top returning team from the state XC meet (if you add Westin Brown), and track is different than XC)

South: Southlake Carroll TX / Austin Vandegrift TX

Southeast: Belen Jesuit Prep FL / Huntsville AL

I don't get why Midwest is being held so highly on here. What have their teams done the past 5 years? Nothing. South teams are miles better than the Midwest teams this year. There is no way 3 teams from Illinois can beat Southlake Carroll, Austin Vandegrift, Bentonville, Woodlands TX, Jesuit LA, etc

NW has Crater and Jesuit OR. The state of Oregon only runs the 1500m. But if you do the conversions those two teams would also be in the top 15.

SW times all come from altitude. Cross Country is also their main focus in the sport.

California tends to race a lot on the track and with solid weather. That is why you see 6 California teams in the top 15.

Some teams may have better better depth or just be better at XC in general.
