The U.S. and its NATO allies, primarily the U.K., Canada and Norway, have been expanding military presence in the Arctic region for decades. (The addition of Sweden and Finland to NATO has been enormous in terms of NATO's Arctic military presence and security). The expansion really began in the late 1990s when the U.S. Pentagon (DOD/DOW) determined, before most others (and contrary to what many idiots still believe), that climate change was going to open up the Arctic to commercialization as well as corresponding military security concerns.

Contrary to MAGA belief, Trump was not the first person to look at a globe and notice the location of Greenland in the Arctic region, and he was not the first one to draw up a map of possible Russian missile trajectories. There were many others before him, including the defense departments of the US (Pentagon) and most NATO allies, which have drawn up plans and assessments regarding Arctic military security for many years now. NATO has agreed and re-agreed continuously and going back many years to continue Arctic military and security initiatives.

Recent political hype and sensationalism regarding Greenland has been (1) based on fake premises and target audience ignorance (2) very detrimental to America's relationships with key allies, (3) detrimental to American business and (4) foolish spectacle.

Jack Smith’s testimony reminds me of a simple fact we all know, but is useful to stay reminded of as we watch the nonsensical actions of this administration: they are all literally fighting for their freedom from lawful prosecution. The receipts stack is large and growing by the day.

It’s one of the simple truths at the center of all of this. They know they’re criminals that face monumental consequences if US law can ever again find its footing. Every action and statement they make takes this truth into consideration.

Our advantage is they’re very dumb and sloppy. Our disadvantage is ~35% of the country is even dumber and sloppier.

It is fun that you guys don't see the obvious conflict of interest and grift (personal financial deals from US policy they are driving). Yet you whined for years about Hunter Biden using his dad's name to make money (was never an official or unofficial representative of the US). Almost as if you don’t have any principles, just a partisan excuse for everything Trump and company does.

Now, in the Bathroom case, unlike the Fake Electors case, the prosecution decided to charge all the conspirators -- Trump, Nauta and migrant De Oliveira. That's three (3) criminal conspirators (i.e., one more than the required two). Trump illegally possessed and stored the Top Secret documents, Nauta was responsible for hiding the Top Secret documents in the bathroom next to the toilet and lying about it to the cops, and De Oliveira was responsible for destroying the video evidence and committing migrant crimes on US soil. Everyone had a role to play.

I think there was a fourth Bathroom conspirator - Christine Bobbs. She signed and executed the June 2022 false affidavit regarding the Top Secret documents and handed it to the cops. But she didn't get charged. The prosecution believed they didn't have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that she knew the affidavit was false when she gave it to law enforcement. The prosecution apparently was persuaded by evidence that Trump lied to Bobbs and got her to sign the false affidavit keeping her in the dark as to its falsity. So Bobbs may have been a very useful and gullible idiot, who somehow wasn't aware of her due diligence obligations as an attorney, but she was not charged as criminal conspirator.

The same day an ICE officer shot and killed Renee Macklin Good, immigration officers used chemical irritants on a crowd that included students during dismissal time at a Minneapolis high school. Last week, a family trying to get around a volatile protest was tear gassed in their car. Their 6-month-old baby was hospitalized. In previous statements about both incidents, Department of Homeland Security officials defended the actions of immigration officers.
And on Wednesday in the northern suburb of Columbia Heights, federal officers detained a 5-year-old boy, who lawyers for the family say was used as "bait" to draw family members out of their home. Officials with the Columbia Heights Public School District say federal agents have detained three other students, all under 18, in recent weeks.

If truly EVERYTHING that NPR writes will have a far-left slant, there's no way it should be publicly funded.
