The Mueller report turned a profit. Manafort had to turn over millions he got for his criminal wrongdoing. It more than paid for the entire investigation.

Nah, it's part of that whole federalism thing...which you probably support: Individual states determine ballot eligibility in their elections.

But it's a nothing story. Not one state (to my knowledge) has actually passed such a law. As the story makes clear, the legislation has simply been *introduced* in 19 states--five of which have rejected it.

By itself, "introducing" legislation doesn't mean jack.

Sure, these are not votes, and people will hold their nose to vote for the R even if he is unpopular. But geez, I'd hate being a Spankist strategist looking at that map. American truly hates this president.

If I were a betting man (which I am not), I would not bet that OH and FL will go for the Democrat. Ohio maintains support for Jim Jordan, one of the most mouth-breathing people in the Senate. Ohio elected a Republican governor last time who was losing in the polls at times and has a very conservative record, especially with regard to abortion.

I think Trump may be in trouble in those other states. The danger of course is that a Democrat certainly could drop the ball here...big scandal after winning the nomination, etc.

This is one reason why the House really should begin impeachment proceedings as soon as possible. We need to have these public hearings first, but they should move swiftly to do those and then move forward with impeachment proceedings. Elizabeth Warren is right on this. If Republicans in the Senate want to acquit this horrible man, then they need to vote that way and live with the potential consequences of that vote.

Trump won OH for the same reason he won WI and MI, the margin was just much greater.

OH is THE swing state and it has swung greatly back and forth. It has gone to the winner in every election since ‘64.

Like I’ve said, all this talk about anyone being a frontrunner is premature. Literally nothing matters until the debates, and even those will mostly affect the base. The first few primaries are what’s important. Winning leads to more winning because people like voting for a winner. In some circumstances they will switch up and vote for the underdog because of a perceived inevitable front-runner. Biden is the big name but he needs to lose Iowa if he wants to win it all.

I think Beto will still be the nominee. His ground game is unmatched. He needs more national exposure and he’ll eventually cave and do a CNN Town Hall.
