Russia is an enemy to American expansion, but they're not an enemy. If we don't take Greenland, then who will? Likely Russia or China. But we need Greenland, so we can't let Russia have it.

President Trump is a charismatic figure and if you combine that with a natural reaction of traditional Americans to DEI, microaggressions, trans in womens sports and CRT, you get a mythical character. He has a natural affinity for his base and he knows how to sell.
