Meanwhile, Trump openly admits that the nuclear issue wrt to Iran is merely a face-saving ("public relations") one for him. He opines that Iran can't actually access the fissile material
("nuclear dust" as he bizarrely refers to it) in question without the US knowing about it and being easily able to prevent access.

Utterly unsurprising that Trump is willing to destabilize the whole world and sacrifice the well being of his own constituents (not to mention kill lots of innocent people) in order to avoid looking weak personally.

There obviously has to be more to it than this (structural and other pressures), but when you have a leader who enjoys unconditional support from 10s of millions of Americans, including a totally supine Congress, the personal factor is much more important. Trump is generally unpopular, but so are most politicians these days. Only Trump has a relatively large and uncrackable base of support. This will continue to matter.

Trump is the president of Peace. He deserves 8 (at least!) Nobel Peace Prizes for the 8 wars he’s ended.

It's going on 3 years now of bombing, siege, torture, rape, and the deliberate murder of children. And this is saying nothing about the WB, about which Israel bots remain silent, as if there is no connection between Gaza and stealing Palestinian land there.

I'm sure you could find an example of a Palestinian who lies as well as molests children. The facts remain that Israeli women were raped in the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel. But you can only see the wrong that one side commits.

Another day, more of the same. Iran threatens to respond to a new US attack with attacks beyond the Middle East. No movement on negotiations. But Trump again tells the media that the war will end very quickly and Iran will agree to not have nuclear weapons. At the same time Trump's ambassador to NATO goes on Fox News and says that strikes could come within days.

The senate managed to squeak through a war powers resolution 50-47, with Bill Cassidy giving Trump a kick in the pants on the way out the door. Collins, Murkowski and Rand Paul also broke ranks with Fetterman breaking the other way to vote against the resolution. Passage in the house is highly unlikely. And if it makes it through the house, Trump will veto. But it does set up a debate in the senate and is a blow to Trump. If new fighting starts, it will give some political cover for some Republicans to jump ship and join the MTG wing of M#GA that is opposed to the war. But given how Trump pretty much swept out everyone he targeted in the primaries, I doubt anyone will be willing to step up.

One interesting thing has been happening. The US seized an Iranian linked shadow fleet tanker in the Indian ocean. The tanker was empty and heading back to Iran. Iran has been able to mitigate the US blockade in part by filling tankers with oil to be used a floating storage facilities. Iran has pretty much maxed out that storage capacity after de-mothballing a number of old tankers. Iran now needs tankers to come back from Asia to be able to continue to maintain oil production and minimize the need for shutting in wells. The US can very easily seize those vessels in the Indian ocean and has now started doing so. Not a big game changer, but a smart use of naval power in a conflict where most of the options are not very smart at this point.

Oil prices are dropping after Trump said that talks with Iran are in their "final stages". But Trump also said that he was in no hurry to reach a deal. And then said that Iran had a new deadline of 2-3 days to reach a deal.

Of course you defend the vile Hamas.

Trump has reduced wars by 700 or even 800 percent. When the Iran war is over, it will be 900%. He is a shoe in for the Nobel Peace Prize, unless the voting is rigged. Raise tariffs on Norway!

It is such a scam. Trump announces that a deal is close. Oil prices come down. Commodity brokers invest. Hostilities continue. Oil prices go back up. Rinse and repeat. Trump did the same with tariffs. Once that game got old, he moved onto the Iran war.
