Twice impeached. Six bankruptcies. A friend of many of the world’s current authoritarian leaders and an enemy of the peace collective materially credited for the US’s post-WWII rise to economic juggernaut status.
The 249 year experiment that is America may be Trump’s seventh bankruptcy; financially pending, morally complete. He thanks you for your demonstrable contribution to the latter.

What’s kind of fascinating about this moment (if you can table all the depravity and stupidity and corruption), is that we’re watching a massive pool of Americans (not all MAGA, but many, possibly most) that will at some point in their future have to pretend this loud and clear and undeniable version of themselves was revealed. Many in MAGA are just those who’ve been left out or rejected one too many times in their lives. Having an identity that’s accessible (if morals are optional) is a powerful way to feed that human need to belong. But one day the dust will settle. Maybe it’ll be a dark day. Maybe not. But in any future, this dust still settles. I can’t imagine the horror that will hit them when self-awareness gets a word in.

Localities not helping the national government enforce laws that govern everyone? And especially, one would think, when there was a Democrat in the WH. Why wouldn’t a good liberal want to help the great Obama to enforce laws??
