Not use real names, just register. That way people can can post under an assumed name and stay anonymous (which I agree is a good thing) but people can track what they say over time. If someone has a track record of posting good information, or is always blasting NOP, or is always full of it, people can factor that into their assessment. It also makes it at least a little harder for someone to just drop in and add a useless comment.

As it stands now, I'll wager plenty of the posts on this thread are simply trolls using countless different handles. The appearance of dozens of people questioning something is far more powerful than 1 or 2 people.

I wonder how long a similar thread claiming Wejo just failed a drug test after his recent marathon would last online if gained this kind if traction.

Not a chance. Those with power can abuse it to try and squash individual rights to freedom of speech. Large organizations would work hard to manipulate public opinion, through legal threats, with the hoped for outcome being one that helps the organization make more money.

If Centro was my athlete, and he was faultless, I would have issued a statement like: Centro has been tested eight times since November 2013. Every test has been negative. He is not under a cloud of suspicion from any drug testing agency. He has been ill all winter but is slowly regaining full fitness. His first race this year will be the X meet early April.

Four simple sentence could have prevented this reputation destroying rumor.

No, people would only point how how loudly Lance and his entourage denied all allegations. At this point, there is nothing that Matt nor his agent can say that would alleviate suspicion in some peoples' mind.

Quite the opposite. Suspicion has escalated since his agent, without directly addressing and refuting the doping allegations, merely referred to Matt's tweet. I have never seen an agent with such a passive dismissal of a serious charge.

First of all, this alleged viral infection that Centrowitz claims, if it is real, is probably an experiment gone awry. NOPe was probably looking for a viral vector to find a new PED delivery system and it mutated in Centrowitz.

Second, we saw how sleazy reacted at the indoor nats. He pulled every scumbag trick there is to get little jordan a spot, and invented a few new ones to dq Bumby. There is no limit to his sleazery, nor any limit to how USATF will kowtow to this clown college product and nike. When centro got popped, sleazy and nike went into overdrive with the bribes and threats and questionable legal mumbojumbo to hide the results. centro could be lance filthy and ben johnson caught positive, yet we will never get the true story because of the fixers at NOPe and nike. Paranoia and actual events are not always opposing.

"Charge"? Seriously? There's no charge here, there is wild and unsubstantiated speculation coupled with a mob mentality. It is very childish to use swear words when they are trying to support your claim. You end up looking worse than the person you are battling with.

Salazar is on record stating that using non-banned stuff is okay, because you are staying within the rules. Salazar is far from the only coach who is okay with athletes using things that are not banned. This is what has been called gray-zone use.

Gray-zone use products are things that improve performance that haven't been officially listed as PEDs. You can be a gray-zone runner and properly claim you are not a PED user because you are not using anything that is on any official banned list.

The ugly thing that is happening now is that WADA is tryibg to claim that a non-banned substance can be considered a PED, and that some obscure and unclear language in their rule book allows WADA to to claim is as a PED and therefore athletes can be banned.

This is what is happening with Xenon Gas. It "naturally" boosts EPO by increasing red blood counts. WADA's opinion is that if an athlete uses "natural" EPO boosters that that is just as bad as directly injecting EPO.

Gray-zone athletes need to start worrying if WADA starts trying to impose bans retroactively on athletes who used something, like Xenon gas, that was not officially banned.

It's not my acceptance of Cento's and his agent's denial of the accusations that team Centro should be worried about. It's the four mainstream media reporters, competitors, agents, meet directors, sponsors, Internet media, tv commentators, coaches, track officials, etc. that Team Centro should be worried about. His reputation is taking a severe hit, not just on this website. The rumor was a hot topic at a meet last week. Clearly, the vague denial by Centro and his agent's reference to Centro's Tweet has not squashed this accusation. Anyone with half a brain could word a more convincing four sentence rebuttal than Centro's agent has offered.

This will be my last post because this is like beating my head against a wall. For the first 220 posts of this thread the only accusations were that Centro had failed a test which resulted in him missing races. On pages 11 & 12 of this thread someone finally raises an accusation that he might not have actually failed a test but it was some passport or inferred positive.

Centro said he "categorically dispelled the false rumors as to why he missed races". Look at the first actual specific post accusing him of something in this thread "Centro tested positive. Hence why he hasn't raced as of late. Word will eventually leak out." That was the initial accusation on here. There have been other iterations of the rumor, but that was it originally. The conspiracy folks then say "He just said that wasn't why he didn't race. He never said he didn't fail a test." If he had said he didn't fail a test you would say "he's just saying that because he is fighting the results and doesn't believe it constitutes a failed test even though USADA does." If he had said categorically "I never failed a test. I'm not fighting the false results of a test." you would say "that's because it is an inferred positive and not a failed test. Why didn't he say I've never had any kind of inferred positive."
