Triathlete punches woman en route to win!!!

Is walking backwards, aimlessly through both sides of the course good sportsmanship? Just think if everyone in the race did that....would be a bit chaotic.

If you check out the video after she gets hit, you can see runners in the distance going out on the RIGHT side of the road. So, she was in his lane and he veered over as far as possible to stay on his side of the road. Crossing into oncoming runners would potentially be a DQ for him.

Would have been even funnier if the old guy gave her a shove the other way. She almost backs into him as well!

Sure it is, but there was some uncertainty over which side of the road he should have been on even though the old guy was on the right. By looking in the distance you can see several runners going out on the right hand side. My point was that these runners confirm which side of the road each runner should have been on.

Okay, I understand now. That said, seeing runners on the right doesn't confirm that they should be on the right. It confirms that they are on the right.

Well guess what, I decided to look up the FULL rules on USA Triathlon since they sanction the event:

3.4c. Obstruction. Participants shall refrain from intentionally or accidentally blocking, charging, obstructing, or interfering with the forward progress of another participant. Any violation of this Section shall result in a variable time penalty.

3.4l. l. Endangerment. No participant shall commit any dangerous act which could cause injury to any participant. Any violation of this Section shall result in disqualification.

Allison broke the rules, plain and simple. When you break the rules, you should get disqualified (unless you bitch and moan, while starting a campaign to get the other guy DQ'd).

There is no reason to believe that person posting in the slowtwitch thread was the actual race director. Nothing he posted was accurate.

I spoke with the race director when this post first went up. He didn't seem to think the incedent was a huge deal. The OP brought the video to him during the race, the RD didn't see the incedent so he turned it over to The USAT oficial at the race and the official decided to DQ Blair Cullen. I sincerely doubt that the RD is now slandering anyone. Also, triathlon race directors do attend USAT race director training to become certified.

I've been keeping up with this thread but this is the first time I've seen the video.

I simply cannot believe how that little 'push' turned into such a big ordeal. From reading this thread, the 'Family Adventure Guy (gag) blog, what the RD said and everything else, I thought she was shoved to the ground and laid there crying. WTF???? Bruises...scratches... Where did all that come from?

If she was crying over that push she needs to keep her lil' princess as$ home. People like her are simply pathetic.

I just see him exactly the way I see most egocentric individuals who view life through their singular lens of narcissism. Despite that, it doesn't mean I wanted him to suffer. I teach my kids that two wrongs don't make a right, and that forgiveness and compassion are much better choices than vindication and retribution. That is how I truly feel and I don't even drive a prius with an Obama sticker on it!

Alison appears to be a Democrat. I mean look at who she what cites for an example of forgiveness and compasion, an Obama sticker; the same Obama who has a Nobel Peace Prize, but has been overthrowing moderate regimes in the Middle East (leading to the genocide and persecution of Christians) and trying to start World War III in Syria.

The Christian thing to do would have been to apologize to Blair, and to be more polite and careful in the future. The Democrat thing to do is to tell us how wonderful and forgiving you are while going to war under cover of a peace keeping operation.

Sometimes these rules are never communicated and sometimes there is never a signed agreement, thus no rule is broken. If you don't clearly communicate those rules then you can't fault those who don't know them.

I am at a loss for how anyone can describe this guy as a narcissist. He may not be polite enough to say he is sorry as he brushes past. He may be a dick. But there is zero evidence he is a narcissist.

On the other hand there is a huge amount of evidence Alison is a huge narcissist from what she has written, the way she is oblivous to those around her, and the way she ruined another triathlete's finishing photo. Her post describing how much she had moved on was a textbook case of a narcissistic egotist who thinks she is at the center of the world.
