I didn't read this whole thread but the Belen (FL) kid, who just won the national indoor mile, Joseph Socarras is headed to Penn. Not a great XC kid, but track times are elite with PR's of 4:04/1:48. Glad he isn't going to UF, like the majority of Belen kids do.
He was the #2 guy on the prestigious XC program Belen Jesuit, so I’d say he’s still a great XC kid. It’s just that he’s even better at 1600/800
I’m sure Mireles will appreciate Oregon more than UCLA since UCLA coaches don’t know what they’re doing (they only ran 2 guys at the national qualifying meet)

Common, you’re not good at XC if you get 88th at NXN and run slower than Jane Hedengren and are #2-3 on your team.
Cant only 17 of them be listed on the XC roster though? How many true distance runners would be happy never running xc in college?
So many top programs got a lot of class 2025 recruits, and will need to be making lots of cuts. Lots of people will be in the transfer portal, and NIRCA will be more competitive than it used to be
