- tail cone from the submarine found 400meters from Titanic
- 9 vessels on the scene, ROVs in water,
- no timeline when operations would stop - they didn't detect any explosion for the past 76 hours when sonar buoys were deployed. The explosion would generate massive waves which buoys would pick up.
To me it is a miracle that they could find it in this area. And how they could mobilize so much speliciazed equipment from many different countries in such a short time
Regardless of the outcome, this has the makings of a blockbuster movie.
That being said, it's not looking good. I'm hoping for a miracle (which would make for a much better movie btw).
It would have a bummer ending. I suppose if the script was similar to The Perfect Storm, where the writer had to imagine what happened to the crew. That would be the best model to follow.

Except it wouldn't have exploded as it's not explosive

The best death for that would have been like a loss of power, them having to do something extraordinary to get the tin can up to the surface, deperation trying to open it, while several planes fly past without spotting it, then a sequence of killings to steal the other's oxygen... the script could get extremely creative then

Gotta wonder how much this search mission has cost taxpayers

CEO has a secret, built-in control mechanism of NO2 and a tiny gas mask hidden on his person. He puts the rest of the passengers to sleep and stays awake to break out or await rescue. Don't know why the hatch doesn't have a timer to blast open if it's pressure-free on the exterior for, say, 2 hours.

No, it would not have "exploded" due to explosive material, but a breach of the vessel would involve loss of internal pressure and it would have "imploded", which is similar to an explosion, but in reverse (inward).
This became important detail as to the sound it would have transmitted because one of the questions asked during US Coast Guard press conference, someone asked if the slow arrival of rescue equipment had any effect on the outcome, and the head of the US Coast guard pointed out that sonar equipment listening for implosions over the last few days did not hear anything, which tends to indicate that the implosion happened upon the Titan first descending, early in their trip.

It can get better - CEO is in cahoots with the billionaire's wife to split the insurance proceeds.

In other words, they really wasted resources on this one
