You’re saying that Trump’s Department of Justice had hundreds of pages of evidence against HRC but never brought charges, despite the calls of “lock her up” during his campaign because why? He’s soft on crime? Doesn’t care about campaign pledges? Has no real concern about justice beyond scoring political points?
Does a great job of demonstrating what a BS case this is

I am going to enjoy watching Trump take back the white house in 2024, hell probably win the popular vote. I was a never trumper in 2016. Lefties all you had to do was not go crazy but y'all did.
Trump did the same thing Hillary did except his classified files were in a secured locked closet and Hillary's ended up on a pedophiles computer. But what Trump did was way worse.
Hopefully this time when he wins he does the right thing and shuts down the FBI and fires all the bureaucrats.
Damned straight! That's some straight talk from a straight talker.
Frankly, I don't want to live in a country where Trump could be held accountable. And neither should anyone. At least no REAL American!
Now that my favorite president, Donald Trump, is facing a 37-count indictment from the feds, I join with my brothers and sisters in M.A.G.A., and with all sensible Republicans, in saying this: I’m not sure I want to live in a country where a former president can wave around classified documents he's not supposed to have and say, “This is secret information. Look at this,” and then be held accountable for his actions.
. . .
What kind of country holds a president accountable for alleged crimes a grand jury charges him with?
Or as Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn tweeted: “Where are the investigations against the Clintons and the Bidens? What about fairness? Two tiers of justice at work.”
TWO TIERS! One tier in which President Trump keeps getting indicted via both state and federal justice systems and another in which the people I don’t like keep getting not indicted via all the things Fox News tells me they did wrong.
It’s like America has become a banana republic, as long as you refuse to look up the definition of “banana republic.”
Regardless of the Trump indictment, it's clear this is all Biden's fault . . .
Cannon was smacked down by the appeals court when she made her nonsensical unconstitutional rulings re 'special master'. Either she recuses herself or she will be removed quickly (per Michael Popock on Meidastouch youtube last night).
Serious question: Who is it (or what process is it) that determines which judge should handle a case like this? It seems odd that it ended up in Cannon's court. Did it simply have to end up in her court? Or was this somebody's decision?
Judges are usually randomly assigned unless there is a particular reason a specific judge should hear a case, like previous experience with the subject matter. The district court may have given it to Cannon because of the prior cases she had with the search warrant.

This cut n paste stuff is his MO. He does it on the Russian and Covid thread too. When the lies get debunked with truth he can’t be called out on it later because he says I just posted the article and said it was good. it’s not my article. I didn’t write it.
Right wingers understandably can’t defend what is in that indictment. it is 100% indefensible. That’s why you are getting crazy distractions
(although Gym Jordan gave it a college try this morning by saying Trump can put those boxes wherever he damn well wants to. ugh. No Gym. He can’t)
Today at his rally he used the “I took those boxes right out in the open and nobody said anything back then” defense.
let’s see if that works in a court of law. I guess it would set a new precedent. Crimes are ok if you don’t work too hard to hide them.
It might work with this judge. What’s going to stop her from simply dismissing all the charges after the jury has been impaneled?
The law and the 11th circuit court of appeals stops her. This judge appears to have some bias for Trump and a poor understanding of law, but even armed with that, she can't arbitrarily dismiss a case without setting forth reasons. There are no legal reasons to dismiss in this case. None.
The judge may exclude some evidence down the road, such as the communications between Trump and his lawyers, but that won't amount to a dismissal. Trump's only hope is having a hardcore fan on the jury (like some of the deluded nitwits in this thread) who ignores the law and their oath. That's a rare thing.

DJT refused to return documents, hid them, lied about it, and got his lawyers and others to lie for him. That's what's in the indictment. Not having them in his possession, like Pence, Biden HRC etc
Hillary tried to wipe her had drive to cover up the evidence what she had done. Clearly not being up front. And Biden had all his lawyers go through the documents prior to letting the FBI, not to mention they were stored in unsecured places for decades. Biden's docs were in a garage at the house where his crack addict son on the take from foreign nationals lived. Not exactly examples of being upfront and honest.
Trump was at least president and had much wider leeway and also had declassification privileges'. Neither Biden of Clinton were POTUS when they took the documents.
The but Hillary defense.....It doesn't absolve Trump of crimes he is accused.
Republican running for president should be asked if they will pardon Trump or will dismiss the case if they become president. And Trump should be asked if he will dismiss the case or if he will pardon himself if he becomes president.
They will likely say they will not answer hypotheticals, but I want to see them be asked this question.

I will add that one of things different about America is we do not prosecute the opposing political party when in power. You see this in Banana Republics. Did Trump do something that may be illegal? Probably. But you could prosecute every ex President going back decades if you wanted to do. But we as a country have followed a path of not prosecuting political opponents. Past politicians who have been prosecuted have gone down for crimes like Pedophilia which all Americans strongly oppose. Not situations like, well this might fit in a crime box and we hate the guy so lets nail him. The Democrats driven by their TDS have broken a very important barrier here and now the flood gates have been opened. When the shoe is on the other foot, which it always is eventually get ready for Biden to be prosecuted.

You’re making the case that politicians are immune from justice. Trump wasn’t kidding that he could shoot someone dead on Fifth Avenue and get away with it.
Right wingers continue to put forth the idea that this is a banana republic move because we typically don't charge former Presidents. They are right about that. But they miss the fact that the DOJ, National Archives and likely even the FBI all were trying to get the big Orange buffoon to just give back the documents so they would not have to take it to the next step. This went on and on and on. He simply would not do it. He even lied to his own attorneys because he wanted the documents so bad.
It is like a bank thief that the police decide to let go if he returns the money but he tells them to go to hell and says it is mine. He forced them to charge him. It is 100% his fault.
We would be a banana republic if we did not charge under Trumps circumstances.
Nevertheless, we will soon learn what Trump wanted the documents for. And this will get even worse for Trump.

The only thing you would have a clear legal case against multiple American Presidents and their admins for is war/human rights crimes, and there is a strong bi-partisan agreement never to bring such cases (not least because they US barely recognizes the concept of war crimes/crimes again humanity as applied to its own imperial conduct). Obama was handed everything he needed to prosecute members of the Bush administration wrt to war crimes, and he pointedly declined to act (in fact, he would eventually double-down himself on said crimes).
Domestic crimes by Presidents-- and in particular crimes that seriously threaten the established rules of the partisan game, or the prerogatives of the US security state-- are uncharted waters in US politics, waters that Trump has chosen to brazenly ply (Nixon tried, but covertly, then resigned when he realized he'd failed).
Because Trump observes no norms or boundaries in his pursuit of personal aggrandizement, he must and will be reigned in by the political establishment he has tried to flout. It is not hard at all to imagine what Trump had in mind in holding onto those sensitive docs. Official secrecy in the US has little to do with "national security" vis a vis other countries. America's allies and enemies already know exactly what it is up to and what it can do. But ordinary Americans don't, or choose not to. Trump's plan in holding onto the docs was quite clearly to create maximum mayhem within the US political establishment, should he not get what he wants. This includes within the GOP, should it ultimately reject him.
The lunatic fringe will continue to introduce false equivalents and to fulminate in defense of Trump, but you can be sure that the political establishment, including within the Congressional GOP (because is still represents rich and powerful class interests in the country) is privately relieved the at the prospect of Trump's being reigned in. Mitt Romney revealed this when he said, simply, "Trump brought these charges on himself".
I think it would be best for the country if Trump were to be repudiated by the American people via the ballot box. But he's made it impossible for the legal and political establishment not to act against him before this has a chance to happen.
And he would not have lasted as long as he has in a political system like the one he and some of his hardline supporters fantasize about. When you lose in the context of a genuinely authoritarian system, they don't afford you due process before consigning you to the sh*t pile of history-- or worse. Trump, the Proud Boys, et al, are getting a much better deal than they'd grant anyone else, were the tables turned.

Are you saying that Trump didn’t do anything wrong (like he says) or that he did commit crimes but he shouldn’t be prosecuted because you feel others got away with crimes?

Of the roughly 30,000 emails turned over by Clinton’s representatives, the FBI has said, 110 emails in 52 email chains were found to have classified information, including some at the top-secret level.
After a roughly yearlong inquiry, the FBI closed out the investigation in July 2016, finding that Clinton did not intend to break the law. The bureau reopened the inquiry months later, 11 days before the presidential election, after discovering a new batch of emails. After reviewing those communications, the FBI again opted against recommending charges.
it’s easy to make an argument when you don’t deal in facts.
