Suggests 80%+ of college grads will get vaccinated.
But maybe 60% of non-college grads will get vaccinated.
Does it say why though? I suspect this is largely a function of vaccine availability and location more than education
seriously? You think that?
I think it's more about distrust of the system
'I'm not dumb enough to think that the government would want to help me!' sort of thing.

I'll agree that teachers unions are going to get smacked upside the head in the court of public opinion if they don't ease off their stonewalling. Schools need to open and if the teachers are all vaccinated or given the opportunity to get vaccinated, they need to go to work. Stat.
(unless they are fat or have serious health problems or whatnot)

Much better than being a trumpnation.

That gap doesn't sound enormous, but from what I've read that gap is the difference between herd immunity and not herd immunity.
How this works out in the real world no one knows, esp since the two groups share some of the same common space. But it does show how gaps appear in national health stats...like why rich people live longer than poor people. It's not just availability of health care. It's bad choices. The vaccine is free, HS grads! Free! Get it and save lives!

The partisan gap is even larger than the education gap, that is 82% of Democrats plan to get the vaccine, what only 56% of Republicans. One thing that makes this strange is that the entirety of the Trump administration's Covid platform, such as it he had one, was to "develop a vaccine and get back to normal".
- Develop a Vaccine by The End Of 2020
- Return to Normal in 2021
- Make All Critical Medicines and Supplies for Healthcare Workers in The United States
- Refill Stockpiles and Prepare for Future Pandemics
This illustrates why a political party which is fundamentally based on a distrust of government can't effectively govern.

You are both right.

Yep, as a teacher if teachers get moved to the front of line then all teachers need to return to in-person teaching.
I was very wrong about how schools would do in response to COVID. I thought they would super spreaders. But, they've done a good job keeping outbreaks to a minimum. I suspect since kids and faculty/staff are forced to follow the guidelines they are at dramatically lower risk of infection.

Very clever. Well done. Thought all Trumpers were stupid. Maybe you're the 1 in 75 million.
Although it's the kinda thing you might see on your twitter feed so, I take that back. You probably just copied that from one of your social media feeds.

1.5 million American are now being vaccinated daily.
Thank you President Biden.
21st day in, still only 29 pages. Rate has dropped below 1.5/day from its peak slightly above 1.6. And that includes my gentle reminders of this death spiral your thread is in.
This is your president, Democrats! Aren't you excited about him?

It seems we may have reached peak oil.
Doing cases today to show the big drops. With the implication that deaths have only just started to fall, and should drop sharply as February moves along.
**7 day averages of new cases**
US: -59% (10% has received at least one shot)
Israel: -30% (43% has received at least one shot)
UK -73%!!!! (18% has received at least one shot)
France: -7% (3% has received at least one shot)
UK, man, UK.
I'm following France because of its poor vaccine uptake. The country has a different curve than the others. Weird place.
The USA hit the highest number of vaccinations yet: 1.56mn per day. 7 day average. inching up.
Have to point out that the US and UK are standouts in vaccinations among big rich nations. Far ahead of the others. Kudos.

Note that something bad is happening in Kansas. It is in the most dangerous category, while on its borders are two of the safest: CO and MO.

The days of the oil giants are numbered. Shell will easily reach its 2050 goal because oil demand will slow to a trickle by 2030 and they could very well be forced out of the oil business completely.
But don't be fooled by their promises. This quote at the end of the article sums up what is really happening:
“Without commitments to reduce absolute emissions by making actual oil production cuts, this new strategy can’t succeed nor can it be taken seriously,” Mel Evans, the head of Greenpeace UK’s oil campaign, said.
