one basic thing you folks seem to miss is it's in the 100s now -- soon probably over 1000 -- of AMERICAN CITIZENS who have been roughed up and grabbed off the street by ICE, only to demonstrate they belonged here. this is not presumption of innocence and probable cause. it's the thus grab you and you then have to come up with papers. that is not how this system is supposed to work, first the sentence, then we figure out your crime.
between that and we're trying to say you can grab people for skin color, this is basic violation of civil rights. my wife is latina and legal. i've told her to carry papers around at all times. i am white. i don't have to. that's some bullsh*t.
Lol, ya, ok, buddy. Whatever you say.
Anyway, Biden made everyone carry vaccine papers and stay at home. Thoughts?
1) I think that POTUS did not make people "carry vaccine papers and stay at home"--that such decisions were made by states and municipalities.
2) I think that Joe Biden did not have such power outside of federal entities, and--unlike a more recent POTUS--did not simply arrogate power to himself regardless of laws, the Constitution, etc.
3) But mostly I think that, to the extent the states and municipalities imposed restrictions at the behest (real or inferred) of POTUS, they did so starting in 2020. And I think that Donald J. Trump was POTUS that year.
