trump is making it on himself because what he needs is not to actually get more votes, but to form an uber-loyal krew of violent felons, judges and politicians who will let him steal the election via lawsuits and the House.
He needs the cult of personality to build to be able to execute his coup plan.
So he gets rid of any non-trumpers in the RNC, pushes non-trumpers who might not go along with the coup out of congress one by one, etc. It's all a plan being executed.
People still think it's all about voting. It's not just about voting anymore.
He doesn't have enough runway and expertise to succeed.
i hope you are right. I think he learned to only have lackeys, true beleivers and felons around him. No more mike pence types.
but watch what trump does. He's aiming at the courts and the House, not the ballot box. Watch how he acts and what he does to make that happen.
Jared Kushner has praised the “very valuable” potential of Gaza’s “waterfront property” and suggested Israel should remove civilians while it “cleans up” the strip.
All the advances Trump made in Israel as president went to heck under Biden due to his courtship with Iran. Iran essentially funded and trained the October 7 attack. Gaza has potential to do well. They just have to cut ties with Iran and their corrupt Hamas leadership that lives fat off of the suffering of the Palestinians and instead embrace a peaceful relationship with Israel where they can share in the economic boom Israel has brought to the desert.
Last we checked Bibi's policy was to embolden Hamas and allow Iranian funds into Gaza through the Quataris.
so Lev Parnas is telling us under oath that sitting members of congress, giuliani and DJT knowingly worked with Russian intelligence during the campaign.
Add that to the long list of Trump-Russia collusion.
Imagine being so bullheaded to ignore collusion at this point. To call it the 'russia hoax.'
You are a moron. I just paid $2 for 18 eggs and $3.99 for a pound of 80/20 ground beef. Also, the increase in wages has now surpassed inflation. Most people have some kind of investment in the stock market, so they definitely care about how the Dow does. Moron.
Hooma - that ground beef you bought is like 67% fat. Did you know that?

I hope I am right too. My belief is based on there just not being enough new competent and powerful people who are going to risk jail for moron Trump. If they go around plotting, which they need to do on a massive scale, they get caught. Sure, I understand the political opening for a "legal coup", but I do not think Trump is convincing enough to those he really needs to pull it off. His camp has already threatened too many life long conservatives in power to turn them off to him, and they can't replace them fast enough either. When push comes to shove, unless someone is already complicit they aren't going to risk it all for orange man.

but the strategy won't require much from the lackeys.
TThe electoral votes won't be countable. Federal judges will issue rulings that go against the other...there won't be time for appeals to SCOTUS and suddenly the deadline to count the electoral votes is passed and several states won't have their vote settled.
So there will be an automatic handoff to the House to decide it.
And no one can have any doubt that the Republicans will reelect Trump in that case. It's not asking much...just to vote with your Republican state delegation to the House. Just one vote among many and remember...there will be such fog that no one will know what the actual vote count is.

this is a solid point. But I think the amount of people already complicit in Trump's many crimes and schemes is greatly underestimated. When you see the crazy caucus sell their soul to do everything Trump tells them to it isn't because they think it is wise to do so. Nor because they think it is correct politically. They are taking orders from a guy that has dirt on them and if he goes down they go down with him. And we know that Jack Smiths plan is to nail Trump first and then all the coconspirators after. Well there will be no after if Trump is elected. That is what they are concerned about.
I will always remember when Devin Nunes was questioning the FBI director about the fact that they had recorded conversations of lawmakers with Russians. He looked like someone punched him in the gut.

Ginamator - you and your brethren have been promising Trump's demise for 7 years now. Just stop. You Libs are looking like nut jobs now. Just quit with it.

Alex Emmons of The Intercept reported Wednesday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly bragged to multiple parties that Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, was "in his pocket," citing a source who speaks often with confidants of the Saudi and Emirati rulers.

Notice here out Sally changes her gotcha from. You have been promising Trump "indictments" to you have been promising Trumps "demise".
Old goal posts were not in the correct position and needed to be moved.

If being broke means having a net worth of $3 billion, I wanna be broke??
I bought those at a national grocery store chain. You are a moron.
Sure you did freak. what store?
It's true, Yankee. These liberals shop at low-end trashy markets with idiots and pests, then they blame Trump for their woes when Trump has been nothing but largess in informing Americans of the classy establishments. It's utter hypocrisy.

You're a fool if you think that's his net worth (well, just one more bit of evidence for it anyway). Even Forbes has him at $2.6 billion, and he clearly isn't worth that. He can't get any creditors to help him post a bond, and that's because they know he's cash poor and that he doesn't flat out own much.
He will never be destitute because he'll have his Presidential pension and SAG money coming in, so unless that is garnished big time he can at least buy a $5 million house somewhere and live in that, but his time being thought of as a wealthy mogul is very quickly coming to an end...unless someone bails him out. He owes over half a billion dollars. Someone has to really love him to give him that...and no one with money really loves Donald Trump. If you think Jared Kushner will do it, think again. His net worth is estimated at $800 million. He's not about to give over half of that to Trump.
The only one I can think of (other than some bad actor nation) that MIGHT pay Trump's bills is Elon Musk. Time will tell.

Wrong thread.
Trump's net worth exceeds that of Pope Francis, who is consistently ranked in the Top Ten Wealthiest People by all credible financial magazines. The Pope is loaded with The Large Green ($$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$).

Trump is worth billions. Trump Tower alone is $500 million. He could buy your city - is it Toledo or Columbus. He might even build a Trump Tower in Toledo. You MIGHT be able to afford 1 or 2 nights there.
