You are talking about a women's program that has NCAA top 10 finishes 4 of the last 5 years. This year, they are reliant on freshmen to lead them because of an upper class that hasn't developed. None of the upperclassmen are running as well as they have in previous years (possible exception of Reiss). If mediocre means they don't win PSACs and only finish 15-20 at NCAAs then yes, I agree that looks likely. However the freshmen running up front make this look more like a blip on the radar than a path to mediocrity.

Can anyone shed light on the upsets that happened? Really wtf did that come from?

Boro ran without Deibel and Thomas. 2 guys for them who were top 10 at regionals and PSAC last year

The Mansfield women ran their top 5 for the first time all year, had an amazing day, and shocked everyone. The Scordinos have been good for a few years now, throw in a freshman at 5, a D3 All American, and a senior with the best race of her career at 4, and they caught lightning in a bottle. I think they lose 4 of those 5 so I give them a less than 5% chance of repeating next year, but they are deserving champions. Mike Rohl is deserving of conference and regional COY honors, even if they don't win the regional meet.

I don't think Haven over Boro was a big upset, if you watched results all year, you would have assumed it would be a close race. Take 2 guys out of Boro's top 5 and Haven men ran great, it led them to an easy victory.

Plain and simple Boro got rocked even wither Deibel they would not have been able to hang with haven on Saturday. That does mean they will be out for blood come regionals. With that extra 2k who knows what will happen. It is going to be one hell of a race with ship chasing and getting the final national qualifying spot.

Pretty sure Rohl knows he has 4 seniors leaving and they won't be running for a title next year. Also sure the team is just enjoying the moment.

I'm glad someone is giving these girls their due. They've busted their butts and they had a fantastic race and this is just the beginning as far as this year goes. As for next year, yeah doubt they repeat but the freshmen class this year is as strong as I've ever seen it and they'll continue to be around for awhile longer. Fantastic race, can't wait for regionals.
