The fact that Democrats finally found a cause worth fighting for -- defending a corrupted monument to waste, coups and imperialism called USAID -- is as pathetic as it is unsurprising.
Honestly, I don't think we'd miss the Dep of Ed. Some other org would take care of student loans and the states would deal with their own schools.
My only regret is that of course those empty trump states will take this as instruction to make the public school system a branch of Christianity and quack science. But Trumplandia is doomed anyway with meth, guns and poverty. Can't really help them, so might as well let them have more religion so they can deal with their failure to keep up with the coasts. Their reward will be in the next life.
