You may have missed this, but the pandemic ended 2 years ago. He's qualified to run the NIH, but here are his "predictions" about the pandemic:

- He estimated that Covid would only cause 20-40K deaths in the US.

As far as being qualified to run NIH, I think he is (and if I were a senator, I would vote in favor of his confirmation). Being wrong about a novel virus doesn't disqualify you from a position you're capable of doing. But he based his assumptions about lockdowns (which he eventually backtracked, by the way) on data that ended up being wrong. To his credit, as far as I can tell, he changed some of his positions when new info came out.

The GBD was a troll attempt to kill 20M more people and he should be shamed for it. It was a huge error, but lots of people were wrong about the pandemic.

However he is generally a pro-pharma, pro-vax, pro-medicine intellectual so it's certainly not the worst pick.

TRT for men has been has been around for over 20 years without creating any major health issues.

fisky, a lot of middle-aged/senior men using TRT boost beyond the upper range of normal (no surprises there).

"Mark 60 fitness plus" is a Youtuber that I follow. He's 63 & using TRT. He's very transparent with his usage. He says he using a moderate dose of cypionate weekly & has boosted his levels to 1104 ng/dL (I don't know what his baseline was pre-treatment).

I'm with Kaiser for my healthcare and the testosterone reference range they use is 241-827 ng/dL (I'm 63 & my levels checked in 2023 were 470 ng/dL). Mark's 1104 ng/dL would be more than 200 pts higher than upper limit of Kaiser's reference range. For context, Mark was a 145 avid runner who now weighs somewhere around 180-185 lbs. He's put on a significant amount of lean muscle mass while reducing BF. His strength has increased dramatically. He has numerous workout videos:

You need to watch this video fisky. Dr Osborn, who practices in Florida, is a neurosurgeon as well as an expert in regenerative & anti-aging medicine. He says he not concerned with the pre-treatment baseline number. He says he treats based solely on symptoms reported by the patient (e.g, poor libido, fatigue, insomnia, depression, no energy to train, unable to lose weight, muscle atrophy, etc). Dr Osborn says he has no problem boosting a patient's levels into the 1000-1100 ng/dL range. Anything higher than that & he will not do. Excellent video & one of the best on TRT:
