because this is cancel culture. This is it. This is all it is.
Bud light handed a can of beer to a trans woman and you boycotted and canceled bud light.
You are free to do it.
Just remember that you do it too.
Not buying a particular beer brand is not the same as denying opportunities to speak at., for example, a university. Even private universities in the USA receive lots of funds from taxpayers.

Eh? You're trying to enforce a blacklist. You're denying opportunities of employment for trans people.

Your reasoning is daft. By your reasoning, not buying a beer associated only with non-"trans" people would be denying employment opportunities for non-"trans" people. Consumers have a selection of beers to choose from. Not buying a beer from a brand associated with a movement that most consumers reject - the idea that some human beings are, somehow, born into the wrong body and require horrific, irreversible surgeries, an onslaught of opposite sex hormones and a barrage of same sex hormone suppressors - is a negligible factor in employment opportunities for so-called "trans" people.
You're boycotting Bud Light because you do not want them to hire or partner with a trans person. You're no different to students that protest their university inviting a right-winger to speak.
The point of the boycott is not about the beer brand, boycotters want to force other companies into "thinking twice" about also partnering with a trans person. Such statements to confirm this are on this thread.

Protesting a speech can be fine and is not necessarily cancel culture. But drowning out, rioting, or threatening an invited speaker with violence, are not fine, and are typical of the left-wing cancel culture and often include ANTIFA rioters. Not buying Bud Light is quite unlike such left-wing protests.

Several Anheuser-Busch facilities received threats last week, a company spokesperson confirmed, following weeks of backlash against Bud Light because it sponsored two Instagram posts from a transgender woman.

I don’t think anyone cares what “enlightened” companies partner w LGTBQ+. But, Bud Light was always the “real men of genius” beer and the iconic Clydesdales brand. Plus, the target market for this, imo, crappy tasting beer is very obviously not LGBTQ/trans people. It’s just such a mismatch. Nobody would care if Anheiser Busch carved out a new “Zima” brand for LBTGQ. Seriously, nobody would care. That’s how stupid BUD was for hiring this woke, Wharton “marketing guru.” Heck, I would’ve only charged them a few grand to spell out the obvious. Plus, they let Mulvaney promote this within a couple of days of the trans person shooting up the Christian school. Just retarded all around. Idiots.
