Ant chance we get a WR heare? When bolt ran his WR, he didn't break 20.00 in the semis.
Just putting it out there. What was the wind in the women's race? 0.6 Might need it to pick it up. It's a DISGRACE though that Knighton is in lane 3. WHat a joke.
Why was he in lane 3? Is it based on semi times?
Knew he didn’t have a great chance when I saw that
Michael Johnson is saying typically the top 4 times draw for the inside lanes and the bottom 4 draw for the outside ones.
First night listening to the world feed. Agree with everyone praising the main announcer. And also agree that Devers isn't great, but she's fine, harmless. She really let's the main dude lead and doesn't try to out do him and knows when not to talk.
-I was really worried that a certain someone was going to "win" the W200m. It's only a matter of time when certain someones start running significantly faster than they do now, and women's sport becomes a really bad joke, if it isn't already. When did "inclusivity" become paramount? I've been a fan for 50 years. Something just ain't right here. (Sue me.)
-Jakob was BRILLIANT tonight. When he runs 64-65, he almost looks ungainly/weird. I still think he'll win the final.
-God I wish Mo Ahmed would just concentrate on the task at hand, instead of concentrating on 5 other things.
-Arop!! This is his year!!
-the Algerian guy in the 800m looks like he's suffering at 400m, but still gets the job done. His pain threshold is through the roof. But I think he'll be out of gas in the final.
He doesn't seem to enjoy that part of the job; seems naturally reserved. Though he is only 18 and I'm sure he'll get the hang of it - he may never love it, but it will become more autopilot for him.
Sydney was the same way at 16 when she first burst onto the global stage, and less so now. I like Noah, but I think there is room for all sorts of personalities in the sport.
Kung Fu Kenny and Abdi Nur were my faves for the evening.
Always are going to remember the pure joy of SAFP winning silver. Did you see how genuinely pumped she was for Jackson? She ran over and practically tackled her. It was a beautiful moment of friendship and sportsmanship.
Shoutout to Kung-Fu Kenny. Silver last year and this year, continues to trust his training and medal no matter the year. I saw a ton of Bednarek doubters this year over what he was looking like going into the champs.

I wish Mo would just try and lead a race for once. He does it in Diamond League sometimes and he used to front run when he wasn't really a medal threat back in the day.
but now he resigns to just sitting in 6th place and trying to outkick everyone on the last lap. It's annoying to watch when all the other medal threats will at least try to front run at some point of the race.
Aruba dude got lapped twice? Pull him off the damn track...Or put him in the women's race
Every country that doesn’t have an auto qualifier can put in one male and female in any race except the steeple, 10k, or marathon. He must be Aruba’s selection.
Thanks for that. I was wondering why some of these countries are allowed to enter far from world class runners. The guy from Aruba finished in 16:04.

Too bad there's not a 4 x 200 relay. I get not having a ton of relays because of athlete wear and tear, and 4 x 200 would mean three sprinting relays, but I'd still like to see it - and a distance medley. instead of the 4 x 4 mixed. A hurdles relay would be wild.

Yes. Devers isn't a disaster and she shows genuine interest in even the distance events. And she hasn't said anything egregious.

I’ve always heard it as top 4 get drawn in lanes 3-6 (the middle lanes) and bottom 4 get drawn in lanes 1,2,7,8. The three semi winners were Lyles, Knighton, Ogando, and then Kenny B was the fastest 2nd placer. So that’s your 4 for lanes 3-6. Everyone else gets drawn in the crap lanes.

Gail retired something like 15 years ago. Anybody know why she's taking up commentating now?
