“Every argument against this is wrong. Every single one of them,” McConnell said of providing billions more to Ukraine. “Most of the money’s being spent here. Europeans have done as much, and, after the $55 billion from the EU, more than we have. Not a single American soldier has lost their lives in this fight – we’ve got a bunch of people willing to kill Russians. I can’t find any argument against this that makes any sense.”
McConnell added: “So I think it’s a political reaction led, obviously, by the likely nominee for president having a view and expressing a view on this. So I think that’s why we are where we are.”
honestly, I feel I understand almost all of m'aga's political views. Meaning I could at least explain to a foreigner why m'aga takes the positions it does.
with one exception: I can't quite get to understanding the Republican Party's refusal to help Ukraine. I think it has something to do with automatically taking the opposite position as Biden takes. "If Biden likes it then it must be liberal so I am against it.'
And something to do with traditional right wing US isolationism. And a little to do with feeling the world takes advantage of the US in terms of asking for aid.

these are the guys the Republican Party wants to help conquer Ukraine. The guys the Republicans encourage to invade W Europe. You remember Russia - the country that helps Trump's campaign.
Lead story in most actual newspapers:
Russia is developing a space-based military capability that members of Congress and U.S. officials worry could pose a significant threat to the United States and its allies, possibly by damaging critical intelligence or communications satellites with a nuclear weapon, according to officials familiar with the matter.

So a vote for Biden is actually a vote for Putin! Putin prefers the senile Sleepy Joe who he can control over Trump.
Vladimir Putin just endorsed Joe Biden for president over Donald Trump.

This position on Ukraine funding is 100% about Trump wanting to please Putin and Rs wanting to please Trump.

So it sounds like even the m'gaas on the thread can't explain why Republicans want Russia to win the war.
So yeah I suppose it's what I wrote above plus just.....whatever trump wants is the definition of what the Republican Party wants. Cult.
Always remember that without illegal immigrants the nation would be poorer and pay more for stuff. And have far worse food. Republicans don't want that. Not at all.
Econ growth stats are being raised partly because of having all these new workers paying taxes and buying stuff.
That will make the debt easier to manage and keep Social Security in better condition.
Sure, it's not per capita growth but at this point we need the economy to grow in absolute terms to handle our massive debts.
WSJ:
WASHINGTON—The influx of millions of unauthorized migrants in recent years has sparked a political firestorm that has paralyzed Congress and consumed election campaigns. But it also has a benefit: a bigger, faster-growing economy.
The precise scale of that economic boost was laid out in the Congressional Budget Office’s latest long-term budget and economic outlook, released Feb. 7. It estimates the labor force will be larger by 1.7 million potential workers in 2024 and 5.2 million more—about 3%—in 2033 than the nonpartisan agency expected one year ago. Gross domestic product—the value of all goods and services produced in a year—should be 2.1% larger.
Because those extra workers will be paying taxes and generating economic activity that also yields tax revenue, the federal deficit should be smaller at 6.4% of GDP in 2033, rather than 7.3% as projected last year.

"Trump changed his tune, though, after seeing “this girl” saying what the former president called “beautiful” and “incredible” things about him on TV, said Cohen. Trump didn’t realize who it was. “And then he realized, ‘Oh my God, that’s my daughter-in-law. That’s Lara Trump.’ And from that moment on, as he called it, it was a lovefest,” Cohen said. “He couldn’t stand her until she started kissing his ass. Well, what do you do when somebody’s kissing your ass? Make them the co-chair of the RNC.”
This is an actual transcript of part of Donald Trump’s speech tonight:
“But when I say that Obama is the president of our country bah bah bah, they go, “He doesn’t know that Spiden (sic), he doesn’t know.” So it’s very hard to be sarcastic. When I interpose — cause I’m not a Nikki fan and I’m not a Pelosi fan. And when I purposely interpose names, they said, “He didn’t know Pelosi from Nikki. From Tricky Nikki. Tricky Nikki. He didn’t know.” I interposed. And they make a big deal out of it. I said, “No, no, I think they’re both they both stink. They have something in common. They both stink. And remember this: when I make a statement like that about Nikki, that means she will never be running for Vice President. She will never be running [unintelligible] Vice President.”

Very coherent narrative and word usage seems correct.

He's speaking off the cuff without a teleprompter. That's perfectly coherent.
Biden is incoherent with a teleprompter and devolves into full blown dementia when he's not reading.
