Because Trump can't enrich himself through these old time allies. He has discovered that counties that have typically been enemies of the US are willing to pay for stuff that we have. Trump and many dictators enrich themselves by tearing the country apart and selling off the pieces. Counties with transnational criminals in partnership with the leaders are his faves.

When you know this about dictators and Trump, all of his actions make perfect sense.

How many of those things did he do while president that would give you that sense?

Trump literally says that Russia should attack US allies that don't pay enough. That does not sound like a Peacenik. Unless of course you believe attacking US allies is a peaceful action.

Remember when Trump thought it was a super good idea to share with the world that he and Putin had some talk about having a joint task force to work on cyber security together? That was a the same meeting where he said Putin's words were more valid than the US intelligence community.

The ONLY think trump cares about, and this has been proven over and over again throughout his life, is HIMSELF.

He has shown that he is willing to throw everyone and everything into the abyss to protect and empower himself. He has even admitted while president that he takes no accountability and has thrown under the bus some of closest allies who risked everything for him. He claims he is fully above the law and immune from anything because he was once POTUS. It's a one way street for anyone that engages with him and anything that he touches. He's not known as agent orange for nothing.

Exactly. the Trumpers that are falling in line behind the belief that Trump is a war stopping president are beyond gullible. It is really, really simple. The US enemies are Trump's friends because he can sell them stuff and they can reward him for doing so. Our allies aren't in the market for what Trump is selling.

Trump is a salesman. Rule #1 is don't spend your time with prospects that aren't buying what you are selling.

BTW, aren't Trumpers remotely curious why Trump demanded no transcripts of his meeting with Putin? And forbid the normal handlers and cabinet members to join him on his meeting?
