This consists of most of his base who were already fully primed by FOX and RINOs by 2015 to hate libs and believe America was imminently being flushed down the toilet. The pro-trump justices are setting this up so they don't have to take a position on the broad issue. They are asking why this is their problem. They are going to find a way to narrow this issue and give trump room to run without trying to set a precedent for future situations (in case it's a D doing what trump did so they can get them with different arguments).
Everyone so far seems quite academic.... except ACB. I'm no legal scholar but she comes off as inferior to the others. Just an observation.

From what I'm seeing...one argument is that trump should be allowed to run for the presidency, but in order to take office congress would actively have to forgive his insurrection.
What a cluster situation. Any good American would just drop out and say 'I love America too much to do this to her. I suspend my campaign to bring this nation back together.'
But not trump. He will drive us into the ground. Again, on Russia's side, meeting Russian goals, not US goals.

Interesting that all news outlets are freely calling what happened in Brazil a coup attempt but they refuse to do that with Trump.
SC Justice Roberts has the sads that someone who commits an insurrection, and a party who then nominates that insurrectionist, might not be able to be president. The solution being, of course: don’t fuqking commit insurrection or hang your entire political party on an insurrectionist. This is on the GOP. They could nominate a qualified candidate. Why should that corrupt party have more right to the presidency than those who abide by the constitution?

yeah the dissolution of the GOP as an independent political party is one of the major stories of this era. Parties used to filter out the dangerous particles like Trump. Now the GOP is simply in the service of Trump, no matter what he wants to do. No matter what. Costing the nation bigtime.
