and suddenly the radar operator / pilot etc is being told to stand down.
how can those conversations not have happened?
and now they need to be reversed. this sort of nonsense reinforces the iranian viewpoint that they are winning.

I agree with all but your first statement in bold. The vote on April 22 only got 51 votes to keep the Iran war going. It is not out of the question that Tillis, Collins, Murkowski, Ernst or others could go against it. They have certainly not asserted themselves thus far, though. But I wouldn't bet my life savings either way.

ANd why does Egypt do that? Maybe the $1.5 billion plus per year they the US taxpayer gives them due to the 1979 Camp David Accords to play nice with Israel? Or the similar amount paid to Jordan each year due to the 1994 Jordan Israel peace accords?
