What trump is doing to Giuliani is what he does to America. Make promises, use it up and throw it away. Leave it swinging in the wind, messed up beyond recognition and a laughing stock.
“Rudy testified in bankruptcy court that he was making millions at a prestigious law firm when Trump asked him to try and overturn the 2020 election. Now he is broke and none of his $2 million legal bill for his efforts was ever paid.”
This should be part of Biden's daily campaign narrative. They should make an ad with this theme and play it through November.
Now what boggles my mind is how many of these people who were already doing relatively well come to the conclusion that it would be a great idea to follow this guy. I mean, surely they never thought they'd find themselves risking everything to protect him and falling on their swords for him. My theory is that these are mostly 2 types of people:
1) Those who already shared his lack of ethics and sought power and money at all costs. These folks had been on some path of conning and scheming when they stumbled upon the trump train. Rudy is a fine example. Despite his NYC tough guy and patriot reputation to the rest of the country, in NY he left a trail of chaos as prosecutor and mayor. He got off the hook because others were willing to look the other way and focus on particular results only. I would add to this list pretty much every single already popular and power political figure and advisor/strategist who jumped on the trump train. Name any and I'll tell you why.
2) Those who were weak -minded and -spirited and simply fell for his basic cons, fear mongering and gaslighting. This consists of most of his base who were already fully primed by FOX and RINOs by 2015 to hate libs and believe America was imminently being flushed down the toilet. As soon as MSM and the GOP gave trump the mic these marks were already lost to trumpism.
I really can't think of an example of someone not previously brainwashed by right wingers and with solid morals/ethics who decided following trump was a good thing to do.
Many of us are not following Trump but instead opposing Biden and his ruination of the country.
Wait a second. Do you mean lying on Bank and govt. documents to get loans is a bad thing to Trumpers now?
How can this be?
(but I would like to give you credit for linking to a story that is not FOX News with a paywall. Good job)
I actually was astounded that NBC News reported a story unfavorable to Dems.
You avoided an important point. You posted an example of a Democrat getting busted for exactly what Trump is getting busted with. Financial Fraud.
Yet to you and all the other Trumpers, Trump's prosecution is a deep state, vindictive, political witch hunt, funded by George Soros with Aunt Tifa's support. All designed to make Trump lose the election.
You effectively called out your own bullsh!t even though it is not apparent to you.

Ryan J. Reilly @ryanjreilly “Break it down!” “took this bltch over.” Feds seeking nine months incarceration for #KarateKidMAGA Kyle Mlynarek and 13 months of incarceration for #KarateKidSidekick Ronald Balhorn, who are demolition workers in the Detroit area.
Jordan Fischer @JordanOnRecord NEW: John George Todd III, of Missouri, was ordered directly into custody today after a jury convicted him of injuring a DC Police officer with a splintered flagpole during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
Here's what the Republicans did to a cop. All in the name of Trump and terminating the Constitution.
Here’s what just one officer went through at the hands of Donald Trump supporters on Jan. 6.
Officer Jeffrey Smith died by suicide days later, and his death was determined to have been a direct result of the attacks he went through that day.pic.twitter.com/LE7BlHgr3H
Ryan J. Reilly @ryanjreilly NEW: Jan. 6 defendant Aaron Sauer arrested in New York, feds say he had Proud Boys business cards and pepper sprayed officers. FBI matched up his Amazon purchases with the stuff he wore on Jan. 6.

You are in bucket #2
There is another bucket of Trump supporter. Grandma and Grandpa in The Villages that always voted GOP and sit and watch Fox News. They go to church and the Pastor says if they are Christian they must vote GOP because of the immorality of the Demoncrats.
I think a measurable portion of these legacy GOP voters Trump has now lost. And he will continue to lose if the trials take place soon. I just don't think the Polls have picked this up yet. We got some indications in these exit interviews in Iowa and NH.

I agree though that this religious influence in politics is massive. In Brazil, Bolsonaro managed to quickly mint millions of Christofascists by systematically highjacking organized evangelical factions. Early on he appointed two megachurch leaders and promised to give the faithful their country back (sounds familiar?).. and in a matter of weeks across the country pastors introduced politics into the church program. These sheep were soon wearing the yellow national soccer jersey (Bolsonaro appropriated it and made it his version of the red cap) in church and found themselves tripping over each other to donate to him and get out on the streets for rallies. Many of those had never engaged in politics or voted before as that was not in line with their former religious values.

That's also bucket #2... albeit indirectly
I really don't think we should be assigning people to "buckets."
