Don't you find it interesting that your boy was the undisputed leader of the deep state for 4 years and didn't manage to get Hunter. So either trump is severely incompetent or they just didn't have $hit on Hunter. Pick one.
You're working under the assumption that Trump thinks it's OK to use the DOJ to target political opponents. Perhaps the reason he never went after Hunter is...he doesn't believe that. Which is actually consistent with his views on how the DOJ is handling him right now.
Also, he went after Hunter plenty when he was in office. He mentioned him constantly, so much so that he used the expression "Where's Hunter?" when he spoke at his rally in Minneapolis. Someone liked that line so much they put it on a t-shirt:
Two more things: you don't have to have an opinion on Trump of Biden to dislike the DOJ doing *anything.* They went after Microsoft in the 1990's in an event to break up what they considered a "monopoly." It failed spectacularly and was a waste of tax dollars, which came from liberals and conservatives, alike.
And, here's a thought: children of Predisdents are not elected to office, nor do they chose to be public figures. So, they aren't fair tragets.
Billy Carter, Jimmy Carter's brother was an alcoholic and a ne'er-do-well. Times were different, so he made money selling "Billy Beer." Roger Clinton, Bill Clinton's brother, was addicted to cocaine. He was similarly lucky.
Chelsea Clinton, his daughter, wasn't. Newt Gingrich, the speaker of the house at the time, called her "ugly" and said she looked "like the cowardly lion in 'The Wizard of Oz.'" She was around 12 at the time. This hasn't gotten a lot of traction, but there was speculation for a time that Barron Trump, his son, has autism. So what if he does?
And, while I'm not a huge fan of Biden, I don't care for the attacks on his son. Hunter has been humiliated by the things he did while his addiction was at its worst point, and I really feel like he's suffered enough. If the DOJ wants to go after him for tax fraud/lying about having a substance abuse problem when he purchased a handgun, we might all want to consider that norms around sex work are changing so fast that it's reasonable to make the argument that prostitution should be legal; if he didn't commit any other crime than withholding information that really isn't any of the government's business to use his second amendment rights, then I have a really hard time being bothered by it.
Tldr; There's a lot of variation and nuance in opinion here, and it isn't safe to assume everyone who isn't bothered by Trump approves of *anything* the DOJ does.
Lolz, based on his unethical business history, his views of POTUS' authority and immunity, and how conflicted he was while in office, I can only assume he would use everything at his disposal to harm his enemies. Do I have good reason to assume otherwise?
Scott Shapiro @scottjshapiro · 10h Political Consultant: "We have a huge women problem" GOP: "What if we declared war on Taylor Swift?"
Well, they do have the power to brainwash women in their base, so it's not all stupid. But it sure doesn't help trump's chances and sure will motivate a lot of young people to vote.
I really cannot wait until Obama and Bill start campaigning with Biden and Taylor Swift mobilizes her millions of devoted fans to hand the orange menace one of the worst political losses in history. I'm going to be the first to let the tzees know they stay home devastated.
With all the young girls around, it won’t take much arm twisting to get Clinton there. We know how he likes em. Biden will come as long as he can sniff the hair.
And let me guess, taylor is really a man with a grand scheme to traffick young girls for her deep state clients?

not sure if you've seen the data...the gender split between D and R has surged over the past few years. It was always there, but now it's cavernous. A graph shot around twitter the other day.
That's what makes Shapiro's quote funny - Rs have a massive problem with women and are making it much much worse by declaring war on Taylor Swift.
Or maybe Rs think they'll get more male votes by attacking Swift than lose female votes.
Can we stop pretending that a good portion of Trumpers (not all) are in a nihlistic, death cult and take some time to study what happened to these people and how they got there?

I’d forgotten about the Roger’s Nose Candy marketing campaign. Also, way to try to justify Hunter’s involvement in human trafficking. The illusion that all of the women who are in the profession are in it willingly is false. Places where it is legal have some of the highest rates of human trafficking in the world, as supply cannot keep up with demand. There are not enough desperate women with substance use disorders willing to sleep with strange dirty loser men to satisfy demand.

wait are you talking about Matt Gaetz and his (alleged) travels to have sex with minors? Can't follow all this.

They are irretrievably lost. The solution to prevent it from happening is responsible leadership, an objective media, a good education system, and a strong democracy. Between Trump, the GOP, FOX, Musk, and SuperPacs + Xi/Putin, the mouth breathers are under total control.

A leftist preaching about "responsible leadership" and "an objective media".
Honestly, Biden's approval rating should be 60%. It's a boom.
Peter Baker @peterbakernyt The US economy grew faster than any other large advanced economy last year — by a wide margin — and is on track to do so again in 2024, reports @Neil_Irwin
Investment by manufacturers in plants and other production facilities surged almost 63% in 2023, the largest annual advance since 1951, according to the government’s latest report on gross domestic product. The increase has its roots in companies taking advantage of federal incentives and making up for deferred spending during the pandemic when supply chains were in disarray.

Fk his ratings. Soon it'll be November and Trump will be on the hook for hundreds of millions, will be an official criminal, will have reduced his base even more, and will go down as one of the biggest political losers of all time with some credit for the KO going to Taylor fkn Swift.

They do. Energizing the base at the expense of swing voters has been their mojo since 2016.
Starting to see how Rs and Russia are always on the same side?
Joseph Zeballos-Roig @josephzeballos 👀 GOP Sen. Grassley tells me he’s concerned passing Wyden-Smith tax bill might aid Biden’s re-election: “I think passing a tax bill that makes the president look good mailing out checks before the election, means he could be reelected and then we won’t extend the 2017 tax cuts”
