It’s fun to debate Trumpers about Trump vs Taylor Swift. But we are ignoring the elephant in the room.
and that is that the leading GOP candidate for president thinks it is a sound decision to start a grievance culture war with a pop star beloved all over the world for no other reason except she is telling young people to vote. And of course, she is more popular than he is.
Let’s talk about how much of a man-child one must be to make that decision.
The fact that a successful woman is certain to trigger the high anxiety trump loving males is one thing. But then it becomes even more sad and exciting that this is exactly the kind of stuff that will result in another terrible loss for them. I mean, really? This is like free campaigning for Ds - these voters had no clue they were Ds until now and will vote for the first time as a fk you to the TA hating right.

You're working under the assumption that Trump thinks it's OK to use the DOJ to target political opponents. Perhaps the reason he never went after Hunter is...he doesn't believe that. Which is actually consistent with his views on how the DOJ is handling him right now.
Also, he went after Hunter plenty when he was in office. He mentioned him constantly, so much so that he used the expression "Where's Hunter?" when he spoke at his rally in Minneapolis. Someone liked that line so much they put it on a t-shirt:
Two more things: you don't have to have an opinion on Trump of Biden to dislike the DOJ doing *anything.* They went after Microsoft in the 1990's in an event to break up what they considered a "monopoly." It failed spectacularly and was a waste of tax dollars, which came from liberals and conservatives, alike.
And, here's a thought: children of Predisdents are not elected to office, nor do they chose to be public figures. So, they aren't fair tragets.
Billy Carter, Jimmy Carter's brother was an alcoholic and a ne'er-do-well. Times were different, so he made money selling "Billy Beer." Roger Clinton, Bill Clinton's brother, was addicted to cocaine. He was similarly lucky.
Chelsea Clinton, his daughter, wasn't. Newt Gingrich, the speaker of the house at the time, called her "ugly" and said she looked "like the cowardly lion in 'The Wizard of Oz.'" She was around 12 at the time. This hasn't gotten a lot of traction, but there was speculation for a time that Barron Trump, his son, has autism. So what if he does?
And, while I'm not a huge fan of Biden, I don't care for the attacks on his son. Hunter has been humiliated by the things he did while his addiction was at its worst point, and I really feel like he's suffered enough. If the DOJ wants to go after him for tax fraud/lying about having a substance abuse problem when he purchased a handgun, we might all want to consider that norms around sex work are changing so fast that it's reasonable to make the argument that prostitution should be legal; if he didn't commit any other crime than withholding information that really isn't any of the government's business to use his second amendment rights, then I have a really hard time being bothered by it.
Tldr; There's a lot of variation and nuance in opinion here, and it isn't safe to assume everyone who isn't bothered by Trump approves of *anything* the DOJ does.
