The delegation Iran sent to Pakistan delivered their position to Pakistani mediators, but refused to meet with Witkoff and Kushner. Iran's contingent basically gave GCC states the same warning Trump has given Iran. Iran will take out their oil production, civilian power and water desalinization if the US does the same to Iran.
Trump's ceasefire in Lebanon is not holding. Israel has been demolishing towns in Southern Lebanon to create a buffer zone like what they did in norther Gaza.
The US is continuing a massive military airlift into the region with the USS GHW Bush now within range to participate in strikes on Iran. Boxer amphibious ready group is still about a week out.
There is still a lot of intrigue over internal power struggles within Iran. But Araghchi is still leading negotiations and is holding with a hard line position that is in line with IRGC's position.
It is now expected that Trump will request the 30 day extension for the War Powers Act. That is supposed to only be used to have more time to safely move US forces out at the end of combat operations. But there is no vehicle to dispute the request for an extension. So, it is a perfunctory measure for Trump at this point.
I think we may see an extended slap fight where Iran and the US squabble over seizing ships in the Gulf, but neither side is willing to escalate further. Both sides seem to be ok with the status quo right now and have no better options than to see who can hold out during this diplomatic stalemate.
The US military is ready to bomb the snot out of Iran. But I just don't see Trump pulling the trigger. We might see another round of limited strikes with Israel leading the way. However, I think Trump has met his match in Iran and does not know how to get out of this one. He is making this up as he goes and is just going to fake it until he makes it.
